I have the answer to the puzzle why. It's not a fatwa.
The mullahs won't release some fatwad who opposes Iran having nuclear weapons. He's a discredited Iranian mullah and is currently under arrest and no longer participates in the negotiation.
Seems Rush has thrown down the gauntlet to Thomas “Loopy” Friedman catching him flip flopping.
