Taking the risk of walking your dog in a dangerous neighborhood at night demands a warrior attitude.

More dumb than warrior, IMO.

Every hour of firearm training should be balanced with studying and practicing situational awareness. Just by doing a web search of the term "situational awareness" one can find dozens of good articles on how to train yourself to be much more cognizant of your surroundings and how to avoid risky situations before they happen.

I totally agree. No real warrior goes into a situation fraught with danger without all the intelligence he can get, all the training and equipment he can muster, and without the intent to come back alive.
