Why would anyone ever go to Mexico? A failed, Lawless State? Mexico must get her act together even if it means slipping into Fascism—Law and Order must stamp out crime.

We used to fly down to one of the Pacific resorts for a week when we lived in the Twin Cities. Cheap airfare, nice hotel and good chow. The biggest issues were the beach tee shirt vendors.
It was a kinder, gentler time...

I guess there were tourists visiting Germany in the late thirty’s. Law and order was in effect.
Over the years we have taken many visits to Mexico, including Cabo and Cancun. We have been treated beautifully by hardworking Mexican people. Our last visit was about 6 years ago. We would never go back now. I think about those good people who do not deserve the economic impact of the loss of tourism. They are victims.
For years I used to look after a friends house while he and his wife spent Jan-Feb in Mexico.
Although they felt safe where they stayed in Mexico, in order to get there from the Airport up into the mountains on local roads, they feared getting kidnapped for ransom.
So for the last couple of years they have gone elsewhere.-Tom
