No mandate to use corn that I’m aware of except the Iowa farmers are addicted that that corn ethanol subsidy which should be stopped. Corn is about the least efficient to use in ethanol production. Sugar based crops are much better and the corn should be used for food.

If politicians thought they could buy some votes with refried beans and cars could be fart powered , all school lunches would mandate chimichangas and the new food pyramid would have beans at the top.

Sugar crops are free to compete with corn for ethanol production.
