WASHINGTON Sen. Ted Cruz has convened a hearing Thursday on the pending court fight over the presidents executive actions on immigration.
Since January, Cruz who is edging closer to a formal bid for president has chaired the Judiciary subcommittee on Oversight, Agency Action, Federal Rights and Federal Courts. The hearing, titled Reining in Amnesty: Texas v. United States and Its Implications, will feature Kris Kobach, the secretary of state in Kansas, a leading hardliner on immigration and voter fraud.
Earlier this month, Kobachs many critics pounced after he asserted that if the presidents immigration orders are allowed to stand, it would not be a huge jump for the Obama administration to halt prosecution of African-Americans.
The actions Obama issued in November shield up to 5 million people from deportation. Administration officials couch the moves as a form of prosecutorial discretion.
Cruz has condemned the orders as a violation of presidential and constitutional authority.

Keep the pressure on, Ted!!
Ted needs to convene a hearing on whether John Boehner is a democrat or a republican.. AND NOT a traitor..
-OR- just stand up on the floor and ask the question..
demanding PROOF that this is not the case..
willing to be proved WRONG but needing proof..
with his serious face on.. in all seriousness..
What if someone not only refuses to play ball on Capital Hill BUT.. stabs and deflates the BALL?......
AND stares BACK at all the players..
After Congress funded Executive Amnesty after saying they would not do so, this is exactly the right move by Senator Cruz to keep the spotlight on Congress in regards to presidential overreach.
Already the preliminary injunction of Judge Hanen and the denial for a fast track hearing on a motion to stay at the 5th Circuit of Appeals has set a tone that is permeating the Beltway class that Obama has overreached and needs to be reined in.
In other words, the federal courts are prompting more members of Congress to look at Obama’s actions as needing restraint. And that’s a good thing.
Momentum is building!
Great news. Glad to see Ted keeping the heat on. And calling Kobach really pokes a finger in the eyes of the leftists. Love it.
Sorry, you’re having a pipedream.
Cruz = Senate
Boehner = House
And never the two shall meet. Cruz has no authority to do anything about Boehner.
And never the two shall meet. Cruz has no authority to do anything about Boehner.
Or Boehner anything about Cruz or them both anything about Obama...
