It’s not every day that a presidential candidate refers to himself as Freddy Krueger.
After all, the image of a serial killer using a razor-equipped gun to kill sleeping victims is not exactly reassuring, even for an aggressive politician.
But Ted Cruz used that bit of self-deprecating humor to highlight the absurdity of his latest coverage.
As you’ve probably seen, the Texas senator, gearing up for a White House run, was speaking to a New Hampshire gathering over the weekend when he declared that “the whole world is on fire.”
Suddenly a small voice from the crowd said: “The world is on fire?” Cruz played the 3-year-old girl’s question for laughs, then told the child that her mommy and everyone else in the room would make sure the world is even better.
Reporters, who listen to candidates give the same stump speech day after day, had their blooper story line. “Ted Cruz scares young girl with fiery N.H. speech,” said New York’s Daily News. “Ted Cruz’s new campaign strategy: Scare tiny children,” said New York magazine. “Ted Cruz’s speech terrifies 3-year-old,” said Gawker.

As New York put it: “Mommy, why is that mean man yelling at me? a 3-year-old named Julie Trant must have thought to herself on Sunday afternoon, when her parents brought her to a Ted Cruz speech in Barrington, New Hampshire. Forced to sit scarily close to the spittle-spewing angry monster posing as a junior senator from Texas, Julie was understandably confused and scared…”

The girl’s mother, Michelle, told WRKO radio that her daughter was “quite happy” after the speech: "She really, basically was like 'oh, oh, this is a great man.' He's the firefighter in her mind as a three-year-old. And was quite happy and she wanted a cookie."

That 'story' was a legitimate hatchet job, baldfaced and plain. The left-wing press did EXACTLY what it wanted to do.
It really shows how stupid “journalists” are these days. Of all the real news stories out there, they went with this.
Keep it up, Democrat media! This kind of over-the-top sniping at Cruz only makes your coverage of Cruz even less credible in the eyes of the public. Coverage this biased makes you look foolish and hurts the Democrat Party in the eyes of Independents.

Just the other day someone posted a story where the Washington Post was fact-checking Cruz’s (true) statement that the federal tax code is much longer than the Bible. They fact-checked him even though they conceded the statement was true, and engaged in a whiny argument why they didn’t like the analogy. Cruz is beginning to occupy the space in their heads that Sarah Palin used to occupy.
Al Gore and the global warming alarmists have been frightening children for years with their tales of doom, and not only does the press not condemn it, they join in and condemn those who disagree.
.... In the wake of the aforementioned murder and another death in the area which was also thought at the time to be another murder, the local chapter of the NAACP is blaming ... (I can't believe I'm typing this) ... the public school system:

Two murders in less than 48 hours have the community searching for answers. How can we put a stop to the Meridian's violent crime?
"We should not have to have the crime at this rapid level," Meridian/Lauderdale Co. NAACP President Randle Jennings says.
Jennings says they believe the root of the problem lies within the Meridian public school system. He says many of these criminals drop out, can't find jobs and they run out of choices.
"The criminal is at fault, but what we're seeing is that these are young people that are almost in a position where they're desperate," he says. "I've been in education, my entire life. I've never seen a chaotic community and a sensible, productive school system."
A press release from the NAACP says:
"Meridian school board members consistently expelled or pushed out young people, creating early juvenile offenders!"
By that "logic" that not being able to find a job guarantees a high level of criminal activity American should have utterly imploded during the Great Depression. Note that it didn't.
The demise of Eva Carmichael is just one small item in a long list of such crimes (to be clear, none of the others involve murder) chronicled by Colin Flaherty at American Thinker earlier today.
The press's consistent refusal to give prominence to black youth crime, clearly even murder, is undeniable, pervasive — and a national disgrace.
When it was People Magazine writing the factual side of what happened, you have to wonder.....
Yep, just like Sarah. The thing is, they don’t realize that when they give Cruz air and print time, he’s always going to come out smelling like a rose. The guy is Brilliant!
I can’t wait for the debates. That’s when those voters who are not familiar with Cruz will get to see him at his best.
