Loretta Lynch, President Obama's attorney general nominee who once appeared to be on a glide path to confirmation, is now a vote away from losing the job after months of delay, thanks mostly to her views on illegal immigration.
Senate Republicans leaders have postponed a confirmation vote on Lynch, who was nominated more than four months ago. And each passing day has generated another GOP "no" vote, even from Republicans who typically would be amenable to approving Lynch, who is now serving as the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York and is highly regarded for her legal mind, job performance and personal appeal.
Among those who are uncertain of Lynch's fate is Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, who is chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee and a staunch backer of Lynch.
Just a few weeks ago, Hatch told the Washington Examiner Lynch would easily be confirmed by the Senate.

What white quilt? My ancestors were abolitionist and part of the underground railroad. They should be thanking me! Ungrateful __________!
“My senators are Warren and Markey...so no.”
==
Ditto-—aren’t we lucky?
.
“We need to be lighting up the phone lines in the Senate on this issue.”
You assume the people who “represent” you listen.
I would not do that.
Yes, but still you must have white guilt. It doesn’t matter what your ancestors did or what you have done...your skin color is why they aren’t doing better than you. Clearly they are naturally better than white people, therefore, you should still feel guilt because you clearly have benefitted from other whites holding them back.
Note to the Examiner, and all conservative writers:
Enough with the passive writing already. It's time to push the meme.
This headline should have been:
Loretta Lynch nomination is unraveling.
Don't leave the reader wondering. Leave the reader with the lingering impression that it's a done deal. Others will be more likely to hop on the bandwagon if they believe it's already happening.
It's how the Left shapes opinions in their journalism. It's what you should be doing, too.

She’s a thousand miles of bad road.
>>And if they torpedo her...who will Obama nominate next is the fear of many.<<
Who cares? She’s the wrong choice, and if he sends up another wrong choice, repeat the process.
Obama’s declared war on Congress. Let him reap the results.
He’s declared victory over congress and Boehner and McConnell support it.
>>Hes declared victory over congress and Boehner and McConnell support it.<<
Sorry, but I’m not in the camp that thinks Boehner and McConnell are a couple of idiots. Over the next two years you’re going to see them school the President in how divided government works.
In fact, they’re giving him a pretty good lesson right now when it comes to his Lynch nomination. Plus, who do you think snuck the anti-abortion language into the sex trafficking bill without Obama and the Dems realizing it was in there? And then they put it in line ahead of Lynch’s nomination, giving them more time to line up opposition to her.
Only the beginning. Much more is likely to follow in the next two years. It will be fun to watch Obama fume.
Oh, and don’t forget who invited Netanyahu to speak....Obama’s already got plenty of egg on his face over that one. They didn’t fight the open letter to Iran either, putting the Iranians on notice that the President’s signature meant little without Congressional support.
Nope, they’re not idiots; quite the opposite, although I know that’s verbotten to claim in here.
Yes they are going to school him right after they let Obama do whatever he wants and pray the courts handle it for them. We see how that turned out on Obamacare in the first round.
BTW: I agree they aren’t idiots. They know EXACTLY what they are doing when the pass budget bills reaching out to the democrats first and ignoring the conservatives in the party.
