Interesting tidbit from an article on the election:
” if Netanyahu and Herzog were (forced) to form a unity government, the head of the Arab bloc, Ayman Odeh, would be the countrys official opposition leader and entitled to classified security briefings from the prime minister.”
That won’t happen. There will be no unity government. Netanyahu has the political strength in the new government to form a coalition out of the political right wing and the religious Jewish parties.
Besides, he vowed not to let there be a Palestinian state as long as he is Prime Minister, and the left is all about “two states for two peoples” and a belief that maintaining Jewish control of Judea and Samaria somehow will dilute Israel’s ability to function as a Jewish state.
