The Federalist Papers delineates the reason it was important to guarantee a Republican form of Government.
You will not find a single occurrence of the word, democracy, in either the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution. In addition, none of the Constitutions of the fifty states contains that word.
The Founders recognized the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God and that means, they wrote the founding documents knowing that man is flawed.
The MEANINGS of the words republican AND democrat have been lost to posterity.. -OR- stolen..
Republicans are BLIND to this or don't really CARE...
