I know a guy who was a math prodigy. His father pushed him hard. The kid ended up graduating early from MIT. Had a mental breakdown shortly thereafter. Has done nothing with his life after that. The parents have always supported him.
In this kids case, they didn’t really push him. He’s a true brainiac. After graduating homeschool at 12, he enrolled in some sort of brainy kids high school. I think he graduated high school three times by the time he was 18. He’s about 24 now. I heard he’s in med school somewhere. Guessing it’s not going too well.
