In my opinion, the ethanol mandate is an example, albeit a small example, of the tyranny of the federal government. There is no longer any valid justification for ethanol - none - except it being a payout to the corn farmers of Iowa.

Another example of special interests getting their way is the sugar industry. Your soft drinks are filled with fructose because of the sugar tariff. Pols should stand up to the sugar industry as well as the ethanol industry.

As a resident of Wisconsin and a strong Walker backer, if he comes out for continued ethanol subsidies, I may switch to Cruz.
