From the article:

This is Big!

"The problem in Libya on the night of Benghazi was that nobody, either in Benghazi or in Tripoli, can get hold, could get hold of the cabinet officer in charge of American foreign policy... The deputy ambassador in Tripoli, after the U.S. ambassador had been killed, was able to get the president of Libya on the phone, but he wasn't able to get anyone who mattered in his own department back in Washington on the phone. Because he's like all these other shlub ambassadors: He didn't have the email for the Secretary of State. That's absolutely ridiculous. The Australian ambassador in Washington knows how to contact the Australian foreign minister in Canberra... This was a separate, unique arrangement that Hillary Clinton thought she was entitled to because of her celebrity, and there were real consequences to it."

Did Ambassador Stevens try to contact Hillary on the night he died and couldn't?

Even if they’d been able to contact high level State Dept. officials, Hillary was likely too drunk and the others were too much afraid of her to order anything. She just might be out of it too often to mount a campaign or fight back on these email accusations presently. If my suspicions are correct we’ll see new presidential contenders and hear more about Warren.

For sure - government emails have a global listing where anyone with an official address can be found by anyone else with a good account - quite often cross-referenced by duty title....

I cant help but wonder, on that horrible night would they be trying to contact her via email or would they not be calling on the phone?

I certainly get the whole made up email nightmare, I’m just confused where it comes into play for that awful night.
