If Russia wanted to divert funds to it, they probably could, but right at the moment Russia depends on funds from the USA to keep it going.
It’s like that with the USA, too, in that the USA could probably do the whole thing by itself, but then it would have to start up a whole new program and FUND IT to do so.
Neither Rusdia or the USA wants to fund the ENTIRE THING!

I think we should throw some dimes at keeping it running. It’s a tiny expense overall compared to the 4T budget.
I’m sick and tired of every nasa thing turning into muslim stuff. There’s been one government comment on it and it makes FR look like a laughing stock clown show.

There are currently 3 projects to put astronauts up to the station. 2 have already used basically the future manned capsule to resupply the station with food etc.. They are being understandably cautious. But it wouldn’t take much to finish the manned system

NASA should concentrate on adjusting historical Erf temperatures to prove global warming.

NASA let their archives go. They were trying to buy back or borrow documents of their older technology.

B) What is Russia dependent on us for? Maybe we have the only key, or the only garage door remote.
Or maybe we have been paying the cable bill.

Space EEOP strikes. However, NASA does have Muslim outreach. They cannot make or fire a rocket but they serve a great HALAL meal.

Unbeknownst to many, there is a little known company call Bigelow Aerospace quietly gearing up in North Las Vegas. They build space habitat modules that can be used in orbit, on the moon, or on Mars. Their modules are bigger, better, and cheaper than the modules we built the space station with. SpaceX reusable rockets + Bigelow modules = Cities in space. Forget the Russians. Give them the old clunky station.

Yup since that really is the biggest threat to the human race. At least that’s what our “leaders” keep telling us. I’m kinda thinkin’ that they should be a whole lot more concerned for the opposite condition. Makes for tough growing of food crops. Or we could roll the dice and hope for some beach front property on the western edge of the Sierras. :>}

I was just getting ready to ask that question in reply to a previous post. Not so much about the drone angle (angel?) but the need for a space station in the first place.
If there is some military use for it, then it was beyond stupid to abandon it. If it's just for giggles or to "find out where we came from" or some other such idiotic quest, then screw it.
One thing I'm sure of, some number of space geeks will provide us with plentiful reason why we should pursue a space station.
So have at it, Poindexters. Convince me.
