I love DST! I’m up by 4:30-5:30 each morning so the morning change doesn’t amount to anything. I especially like to have extra light at the end of the day, clock wise. I wish it would stay DST year round.
That’s not too unusual. My wife runs about 3 hours behind my schedule and has for 40 years.
Back when most energy usage was lights, daylight savings time had a basis.
When most energy usage is computers, HVAC, TVs, dishwashers, etc, the massive schedule change to hopefully save on some lighting isn’t worth it.
One exception I know of is dairy farmers. Cows need milking on a regular schedule, usually about 5 am and 5 pm. They don't understand DST, so Amish for example stay on standard time.
I thought it had to do with kids waiting for the school bus in the dark?
I agree completely. Before I retired I was on the road 5 days a week. When DST kicked in it meant I could be home before dark. When the time changed back to normal, it was during the deer rut and I had many close calls on my drive home. I don’t miss those days.
Out here in West Texas, we are on central time and with DST we have long long afternoons.
Several people on here call others idiots for not liking dst. But these same people all say how they love having that extra hour of sunlight in the summer. Hey einsteins, just leave the country on summer time all year, geez... then no one has to reset clocks or their body.
I love DST and am grateful for the extra daylight at the end of the workday I can use any way I want.
I’m sure the sewer trout in the white hut has no idea about this. Has anyone explained this to him/her?
Why can’t we get rid of this monstrosity???
4:00 a.m. is dark no matter where you live.........
“I just wish our overlords in the cesspool they call Washington would decide to settle on one or the other.”
Me, too. It used to be 6 months of each, now, we are only on standard time for 4 months. Not worth it. Just pick one and be done.
It would be nice if the Sun were reasonably close to the local meridian at Noon...
I live in AZ about two hours from Vegas. For four months of the year (Standard Time) it takes one hour to get to Vegas, but three hours to return home (by the clock).
Now it takes two hours to get to Vegas and two hours to return (by the clock).
Life can be hard...
A lot of people actually think they gain an hour in each of the days when DST happens. They don’t understand that the DST day has the exact number of hours as regular time day has.

Hah mine too. I don’t know how to set it unless I pull out the owners manual so I just leave it.
Possibly deadly? Its more than possible. If your sleep pattern gets all screwed up and your fatigued while driving you can not only kill yourself. You can also kill others.
I would hate to have to depend on a surgeon who was screwed out of an extra hour of sleep.Imagine what a little extra fatigue will do to you on the operating table.
Will that doctor or surgeon be thinking clearly and effectively?I don’t think I would be.
This Daylight savings time crap has to end. There is no use for it.Other than to throw your systems out of whack.
If setting our clocks ahead one hour is so great, think of the benefits of adjusting them two hours!
Heck, let’s have daylight savings month.
There is little no energy savings from DST, but it is nice during the summer months to have more light in after work hours. That said why do we start DST so early and run it clear into November? It would make more sense to start around Memorial Day and end over Labor Day.
