Yessir...it was Walker or Cruz for me, but Cruz just one the day. It does not make sense to grow corn for fuel and Walker should know that.
Even some of the Greenies are realizing that Ethanol is a bad idea. Uses way more water than other crops, huge energy input to turn it into fuel, and IIRC after all of the processing along the way the CO2 released is a net increase compared to gasoline.
Cruz wins whether it makes sense to grow corn for fuel or not. What he opposes is paying farmers to do it and/or mandating that farmers do it. Either one is a violation of both freedom and a free market.
The real story on corn based ethanol isn’t complete until one factors in that the mash remaining after the sugar is used in producing alcohol is still a perfectly good cattle feed. The value in the feed is generally not factored into the cost of corn versus the price received for gasohol.
