No Promotion Unless A Commitment To Diversity Is Demonstrated, Air Force Sec Says

Secretary of the Air Force Deborah James has decided to celebrate Women’s History Month by announcing a set of nine initiatives to increase diversity and inclusiveness in the service. The most notable is a new requirement that unless those aspiring to leadership roles can demonstrate their commitment to diversity and inclusion, they will not be considered for promotion.

James first declared the changes on Wednesday during a “Women and Leadership in National Security” conference at the Center for a New American Security, and justified the new initiatives by proclaiming, “There’s simply no country in the world as widely diverse as the U.S.”

According to James, while there’s been some movement toward diversity in the past, it hasn’t been enough. This new strategy will ensure that the service is able to continue to attract the most talented and able minds. Career-field-development team chairs are now required to conduct analyses to figure out what is blocking “airmen from reaching their highest levels of performance,” as James put it, according to Air Force Times.

Out of all services in the military, the Air Force has the highest percentage of women at 18.9 percent, but the female attrition rate is twice that of the male attrition rate during “mid-career phase.”

One of the initiatives coming to the forefront will allow “top performers” to take up to three years off without risking prospects for future promotion. Additionally, James wants to see more women take up the role of pilot, as this job category is usually dominated by men. But because the exclusion occurs as a result of height requirements — that is, a standing height of 64 to 77 inches and a sitting height of 34 to 40 inches — James has elected to modify the waiver process. Previously, the waiver could only be offered to Air Force Academy Cadets, but James will expand the process to include Reserve Officer Training Corps cadets, meaning that 900 women will now be eligible to become pilots.

For James, women should constitute more than the 25 percent of the applicant pool thy already are. Instead, that rate should be boosted to 30 percent.

“This is not just about how we look. It’s about our readiness. It’s about our capabilities today and for the future. It’s about how we are going to perform as an Air Force… in this very uncertain geopolitical environment,” James stated at the conference.

So, which aircraft would require booster seats and blocks on the pedals?

How is it “diversity” when one doesn’t allow folks with differing opinions to have equal rights? I’m sure that those who are rabidly pro-homosexual (and all the other aberrations of “personal sexuality” that they have ginned up) do not have to worry about being ‘stagnationed’ out of the military.

This scourge will haunt the USAF for decades. Only the acolytes to the social agenda will remain. The mission is changed. Being a great pilot is just standard performance. The mission of war fighting is taking a back seat and will deteriorate more than it has now.

Only the shoe clerks and politicians will remain and we know they are not leaders.

It is not enough to accept women who are capable and fly with them willingly. The point now is that you not only accept but endorse, embrace and encourage. Equality is not the point of the exercise... it is superiority. You said it... What is HER claim to moral superiority? It is power and she has hers now and she is going to use it to PUNISH all those who have offended her.

Women do not belong in positions of authority in a male world. They have destroyed the family unit in so doing and they have destroyed much of the values of the nation as well. Men have played their part in a big way in the general destruction. They have not shouldered their responsibility well at all. They have not been good fathers or husbands and women have not been good mothers or wives either.

The Bible places expectations on men and women that are tough. He places the man as the head of the house with huge responsibilities to protect, provide, guide and set a good example. He has also placed great responsibility on the wife. Both are very important jobs that have unique, significant and special places to be proud of if done well.

I am a knuckle dragging neanderthal. Yeah, So?

Do you honestly think the majority of folks wearing the uniform agree with this “policy”?

A political appointee is making USAF policy, not the servicemembers...the benefits of a military governed by civilians. Do you think the USA, USMC, USN, USCG are immune from this? What will you call them when these same policies are enacted in those services?

I see and talk with USAF folks just about everyday...to a person, not one is in agreement with any of the PC policies imposed upon them.

Yet, they wake up each morning, put on their uniforms and report for duty. As they have committed to do when taking their oath.

And this is how they are “rewarded”...with idiotic policies imposed by political animals and then slurs from Americans.

I just can’t fathom the level of vexation many have towards the USAF and its members.

That was something. Because of high school ROTC, I went into USAF boot camp as an E-3. Program had to be new as the TI suggested I put Airman Basic ( E-1 ) on everything that wasn’t official just to keep things uniform. Later I found out at my first base that there were airmen who went 4 years and made E-3 before they got out. That was normal. Sure was fun in tech school as I outranked most of my classmates. After I was in a few years, E-2s and E-3s coming out of tech school were fairly common.

Women can never be the same as men never. They want equality so they go for that and will never be satisfied. Because it is not achievable. So they go past it and want exaltation

Problem is that birth control is at the root of it. They can forego kids unnaturally and that wreaks all kinds of havoc, control if everything

Gender confusion. Role confusion

Men can stop all of this nonsense. But they won’t. They favor artificial birth control

This is still going on.

Secretary Zinke needs to appoint a chief ranger for the National Park Service.

The NPS needs to be audited from top to bottom.

Check this out: thousands of dollars from a partner organization were funneled to a professional baseball team in the name of reaching underserved audiences!

https://www.nps.gov/resources/2016.htm?id=ADA6966B-1DD8-B71B-0B0D8BC8DC264DA8

Obama-era hires are still promoting last administration’s agenda.

It is very discouraging that nothing visible is being done to correct the discrimination that took place over the last 8 years. Affirmative Action and racial quotas are still in place, while back doors and loopholes remain wide open so less qualified candidates can be selected non-competitively over more qualified individuals.

Until president Trump’s nominees are approved, some agencies and offices will continue to operate as zombie agencies, enforcing Obama era HR initiatives until specifically told to cease.

For example, last year a friend of mine was ordered to write an essay on climate change in order to qualify for a job at a Federal Civil War memorial site.

Another Civil War battlefield lapsed the position of park historian in favor of adding a park environmental specialist.

Education specialists, social media specialists, environmental specialists, and etc. have replaced park rangers on organizational charts, meaning there are less people to handle visitor services and visitor safety.

Fed agencies must be depoliticized after 8 years of the last administration.
