I went over to the AeroPress office. Thought I might buy one.
Too complicated!!
But the Aerobie Sprint Ring was really cool! Got one for my kid...almost as good as the lights on the Keurig!
Exactly. Just like Buffett and all the other hypocritical Lib millionaires, he waits until his money is in the bank to piss and moan about the evils of consumerism and making money.
Probably true.
But I make 8 cups every morning, go through them by 11.
Then I gotta go cold turkey or no sleep until midnight...!!
So feed the poor only one meal a day or so, like the Native Americans?
I haave been buying 80 at a time from a store called OLLIE’S for $25. You gotta’be a moron to pay that much for 12. You deserve to buy your coffee at StarPlucks if your that silly.
Old joke: A hunter is afield with his Indian guide in the North Woods. He stops, checks his watch, and says "It is 12 o'clock. Let's stop for lunch."
The Indian looks at him for a moment, then says "White man crazy. Look at watch to see if he is hungry."
I told this joke to a bunch of Indian programmers just before a conference. They broke up and thought it was funny. The black supervisor just GLARED at me. (shrug)
Get a Bella Espresso brewer for about 40 bucks. Fill the pot full of water. Fill the ground holder half full of coffee.
The perfect large cup of coffee and one cup at a time in about the same amount of time as a 2 year old Keurig. Easier than Mr Coffee, cheaper than any coffee, no waste, and no plastic going into the environment.
Sarcasm? They mean 4 ounces of ground coffee in a 12 pack of K-cups. But, you must have known that.
You don’t have to use the K cups if you have the reusable coffee pods and you can use your regular coffee with them
Yes. Those reusable filters that fit the Kuering are the way to go. Saves a TON of money. And waste.
Word is the inventor only got about $50K for it.
Those who have Brinks truck amounts from it are moving on to v2.0, which has DRM to ensure others don’t infringe on those trucks without approval.
Also, I prefer fresh coffee. Coffee which has sat on the burner for 3 or 4 hours isn’t worth drinking IMO.
The K Cups always give you a fresh brew.
Depends on what you consider waste. My research indicates that the AeroPress requires more coffee [dry measure] per cup, than say, any given drip style.
I like my FP, but the cleanup sort of encourages the ease of the programmable drip during the week.
Basically a cup made of cookie dough and lined with white chocolate/sugar combo to slow down the crumbling.
Probably rice or soy paper for the KFC logo too.
I want coffee for the drugs.
So if I want a mug of coffee, now, I don’t fool around.
Instant coffee. I buy in bulk.
I also use it for developing film.
People who want tasty coffee are racists.
We have at least one of those single-serve reusable gizmos at home but what's the point if you're microgrinding your own coffee to load individually into the thing that you've gotta rinse out when you're done? Might as well just make a pot of coffee with a #4 filter.
What the Keurig system is great for is the office environment where you can't grind your own coffee. At our office, it's either use the Keurig and have good disposable coffee or you can enjoy the wretched Yuban® crap that comes in industrial packaging from our institutional S.E. Rykoff supplier for use in this big lousy breakroom coffee maker that has hard water scale deposits and ancient coffee pots that look like they were piulled from the post-apocalyptic rubble of WWIII.
Moreover, you go into the breakroom after 3pm and you find that the facilities cleaning lady turned everything off and the coffee pots are sitting in the nasty breakroom sink filled with blue Dawn dishwashing detergent water.
Yeah, like I stated to another poster just a moment ago, everyone has the refillable single-use K-Cup gizmo but very few people actually use the thing. It's just too much like filling up a bong load plus you have to rinse out all the messy coffee granules when you're done. Forget that.
We have some goofy lady at work who pre-packs a few of those single-use K-cup thingies in her dainty little lunch box to use in our Keurig machine and then washes it out down the sink in the breakroom at the end of the day. Makes me wince with the creepiness of it all, and I have a firm personal ethic of not doing anything suggestive of being the creepy fruity person in the workplace. I'd rather die than use the bathroom at work, for instance.
I drink 1-2 cups of coffee in the Morning before rushing off to work. The Keurig save a lot of time and effort. You can get different sized servings depending upon how strong the blend is and how strong you like your coffee. You can also buy it in bulk at Sam’s Club.
