Why The E-Mail Scandal Won’t Doom Hillary
National Review ^ | 03/06/2015 | Jonah Goldberg

Historically, the Clintons have proved to be politically indestructible. To paraphrase the movie Aliens, to truly destroy the Clinton-Industrial Complex, you’d have to nuke it from orbit. It’s the only way to be sure.

Given that alone, I doubt that the unfolding controversy over Hillary’s e-mail schemes spells her doom.

The basic details are as follows: In 2009, a week before she started her job as Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton had a personal Internet server registered at her home address. She then used her own domain name, “clintonemail.com,” to conduct all of her business — for the State Department, but also presumably the Clinton Foundation and other matters, be they nefarious or high-minded.

The server was registered under the name Eric Hoteman — someone who doesn’t exist. But it’s almost surely Eric Hothem, a Washington financial adviser and former aide to Clinton who, according to the Associated Press, has been a technology adviser to the family. Tony Soprano would be envious.

This system allowed Clinton to maintain control over her e-mail correspondence. No third-party copies would be stored on, say, government or Google hard drives. Matt Devost, a security expert, succinctly explained to Bloomberg News the point of having your own private e-mail server: “You erase it and everything’s gone.”

Depending on whom you ask, this was a violation of Obama-administration policy, long-established State Department rules, the Federal Records Act, or all of the above. Moreover, outside the ranks of Clinton-Industrial Complex employees, contractors, and supplicants, there’s a rare bipartisan consensus that it was, to use a technical term, really, really shady.

Team Clinton’s initial response was as expected: Send out oleaginous flacks to shoot the messenger and befog the issue. That failed. Even normally reliable resellers of Clinton spin at MSNBC balked at the prospect of keeping a straight face as David Brock, a prominent Clinton remora, tried to demand an apology from the New York Times for breaking the story.

Then Mrs. Clinton weighed in to somewhat greater effect. She tweeted, “I want the public to see my email. I asked State to release them. They said they will review them for release as soon as possible.”

This was a reference to the “55,000 pages” of e-mails Clinton handed over to the State Department in response to a request. It’s also a classic bit of misdirection. Among the swirling issues at play is whether Clinton handed over all of her official business e-mails as required. (The State Department offers no clarity on this.) The whole point of having your own private server is that no one can check to make sure you didn’t selectively delete or withhold e-mails.

The number of pages is also meaningless. First, if you’ve ever printed out e-mail, you know that “pages” and “e-mails” are not synonymous terms. But even if they were, so what? I could release 99.99 percent of all my e-mails, and you’d see little more than boring work product, press releases, spam, and appeals from Nigerian oil ministers. My incriminating stuff could remain invisible — valuable snowflakes held back from a blizzard of chaff. If you don’t think the Clintons are capable of such legerdemain, I refer you to the Clinton-inspired debate over billing records and the meaning of “is.”

This points to another reason why I think Clinton will survive this mess. If there’s a damning e-mail out there, it’s been deleted, and the relevant hard drive would be harder to find than Jimmy Hoffa’s body. So critics are probably left with the task of proving a negative.

The real significance of this moment — and a partial explanation of the media firestorm over it — is that time is running out to stop the Clinton freight train.

Nothing in this story is surprising: not the desire for secrecy, nor the flouting of legal norms, nor the cynical attempts to shoot the messengers — and certainly not the staggering hypocrisy. (In 2007, then-senator Clinton denounced the Bush White House’s far more defensible use of “secret” Republican National Committee e-mail addresses for campaign business as proof that “our Constitution is being shredded.”) It’s all vintage Clinton.

At some point down the tracks, when yet another fetid cloud of Clintonism erupts into plain view, many smart liberals will look back at this moment as the time when they should have pulled the emergency brake and gotten off the Hillary train.

The unease they feel now will be nothing compared to the buyer’s remorse to come.

I think it’s because most low information DemocRAT voters expect their politicians to be crooks and lawless thugs. They want their politicians to be just like they are.

I beg to differ.

The base wants someone far more progressive. And the establishment is terrified that she will f**k it up again and blow it.

This is a calculated move to get her out of the race.

Yup. But I think this will work in our favor. This will wound her, but not take her down.

I believe she has dirt on others in power and would threaten them with exposure. Hildabeast is slime from under a rock. Add to it that politicians protect and cover for their own.

You maybe be correct.

I held my breath, and went over to DU and the natives by about 60-40 want the kankled bitch out and the indian maiden in.

Even moveon.org, the web site spawned by soro's money to protect BJ klintoon, wants the hildabitch gone.

There is little that those of us on the right can do to hasten her demise, but the lefties are scalp hunt'en.

Hildabeast is too moderate for them.

The Beast will come up with some government hack who will say the government approved her servers as secure and approved for official use.

I wouldn’t be surprised to find out that she charged the cost of the setup to the government and billed them (us) for monthly charges.

Here’s is what will happen, as with every other bombshell story since 2008.

1. The media will pile on for a while and appear to be hanging her out to dry.

2. They will slowly turn and begin adopting a common message in defense of her.. like ‘everyone does this in Washington and the law wasn’t meant to be enforced blah blah....’

3. Obama will unleash his latest executive order attacking America or Harrison Ford will wreck a plane or something and then the story will disappear forever and be forgotten.

4. If the story is brought up again next year, it will immediately be shunned by the media as ‘old news’ and they will say there was nothing to the story because obviously nobody went to jail. Followed by, shut up you conservative bigot anti woman misogynist house slave!

It is not uncommon in illicient groups that an email account is created. More than one person is given the log in information. Emails are never sent but kept in the draft file to be read by the others logging in. Group can then Communicate without actually leaving a footprint
It is imperative that Federal Marshalls get hold of that server

With this information in mind Connect these dots:

Someday somewhere someone will connect the dots. Sooner gets an Obama pardon. After nominated assures she won’t finish the race. Later opens more cash drawers to the family fund

1. $6 billion missing from state department
2. Multiple email account under various fake names register out of the public eye ( a technique used in money laudering)
3 Unlimited travel through out the world without going thru customs
4. A history of deceit and bending of the rules and out right lies
5. Large contributions to a family controlled “charity” by foreign and domestics who have opportunity to gain
6. Questionable relationships with people of questionable background (including daughter’s inlaws , sibling of both Hill and Huma etc)
7. And ......

This system allowed Clinton to maintain control over her e-mail correspondence.

Why would she need additional "control" over her e-mails? Doesn't the standard government Outlook system offer control by means of folders, out-of-office replies, calendaring, etc? Control at the server level allows one the ability to delete entire e-mails that originate from that domain, or are sent to that domain.

There is a possibility of other e-mails originating from Clinton's address to show up on other servers, but the whole idea that she set up her own server to "control" communications just reeks of illegality. Lefties continue to pummel Nixon to this day for allegedly destroying 18 minutes of tape, but Nixon has nothing on these people. Nixon never had the media in his camp protecting him, either.

90% do not know what is going on or how our government is supposed to work, The corrupt broadcast main stream media is to blame for this. They want secularism to rule because then, they set the standards for right and wrong and they hate traditional morality. And, yes, many do not care whether thugs run the government. They will care eventually, but not now.

This raises the obvious question of if she becomes POTUS, will all of our nuclear secrets be on Instagram?

Why The E-Mail Scandal Won’t Doom Hillary

Of course not! Her moronic supporters will claim that it is just the GOP being petty, and the average person, who barely has a grip on what email is, will wonder what the big deal is about.

She could kill someone, and no one would bat an eye - oh wait, sorry Vince, she's already done that.

I think more and more Democrats see Hillary as someone who would have been a formidable candidate 15 years ago, but is now someone whose best days are behind her. Her disastrous book tour, her complete failure as Secretary of State, and her current troubles involving foreign donations and her private email system are causing Democrats to conclude that a Hillary Clinton presidential run is a train wreck waiting to happen. They cringe every time she speaks in public these days. I also suspect that internal polling among younger voters is showing that they are not the least bit impressed with Hillary, and regard her as a relic left over from the last century. The Democrats know that they need to find another nominee, and fast.

Yes all this stuff coming out week after week is the Democrat party dumping Hillary Clinton so they can run Liz Warren or Jim Webb.
