Bill this Jackass.
How much per hour does it cost to run a Coast Guard Cutter, Helicopter, Divers, and Medical staff?
Every one of these trustfund thrillseeker jackasses should be billed for every man-hour, minute and second of all the resources spent saving their jack-asses.

I remember folks walking from Cleveland to Ontario back in the big freeze year of 78.
But some got into problems too. The lake doesn’t freeze consistently, due to winds, waves, etc.

Sounds like the icebreaker was just doing its thing and came across him out in the middle of the lake.

That's a 50 mile walk in itself.

They should have just yelled “How’s the fishin’?” and kept going.

had a friend of my hubby and some other guys were fishing on Lake St. Claire, too much beer, not enough fish and the friend threw his dentures in the lake...wonder if anyone caught a big fish, when gutting it found it had teeth..

I can’t remember what movie it was but there was a movie where they cut a hole in the ice of Lake Saint Clair and drowned a union organizer in it.

I asked my daughter, a paramedic, what she’d say to him if she was one of the EMTs picking him up. She replied: “What the hell were you thinking?!”

Agreed. I've done quite a bit of walking across ice drifts here. Getting good clothing for that, possible winds and precipitation requires some experience. Food, water and prior physical training with great nutrition would also be wise for trying to march that many miles.
