(Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch announced today that it has filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit against the State Department seeking any and all communications – including emails – from then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and her Chief of Staff Huma Abedin with Nagla Mahmoud, wife of ousted Egyptian president Mohammad Morsi, from January 21, 2009 to January 31, 2013 (Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of State (No. 1:15-cv-00321)). This latest lawsuit will require the State Department to answer questions about and conduct thorough searches of Hillary Clinton’s newly discovered hidden email accounts. Judicial Watch also has nearly a dozen other active FOIA lawsuits that may require the State Department to search these email accounts. Huma Abedin is also alleged to have a secret account as well.

Sydney Blumenthal, close confidante of Bill and Hillary Clinton, was the latest victim of the email hacker, Guccifer. According to the Smoking Gun on March 15, there is much speculation about the nature of the information obtained by the hacker, which has not yet been made public. Will this illegally obtained information be what finally provides answers about Benghazi?
Some attachments and other important correspondence were reportedly collected by the hacker through screen shots. Guccifer, the name by which the hacker identifies himself, has also infiltrated email accounts of the Bush family and friends, Colin Powell, U.S. Senator Lisa Murkowski, John Negroponte, Rockefeller family members, and others. Most of the affected accounts were AOL email accounts.
Sydney Blumenthal was unaware that his AOL account had been hacked until he was unable to log in yesterday. His account had been hacked in a manner that specifically sorted all correspondence from Hillary Clinton, going back to 2005. Blumenthal was a former White House adviser to the Clinton White House and a senior adviser to Hillary Clinton’s 2008 presidential campaign.
