I had to skip my chemo session that had been scheduled for
March 4 because my platelets were too low.
I added more cruciferous vegetables to my diet and started
taking iron and Vitamin K supplements, and they went from
23,000 on March 4 to 97,000 on March 9. That is still
43,000 low, but since I tolerate the chemo rather well, they
rescheduled me for yesterday at a slightly lower dosage, 15%
lower, and it went well.
Today I have to go back and get my Neulasta shot (white
blood cell booster) which must be given between 24 and
48 hours after chemo.
Two more sessions of the “nasty drugs,” and all I have to
take for the rest of the year will be Herceptin, the cancer-
gene suppressor.
I’m tired today, but that is not unusual.
Thank you so much for your prayers. They are very much
appreciated and welcome.
That sounds great, TOL. It may sound silly, but I’ve always believed that broccoli is a very healthy vegetable.
