Ted Cruz says the Republican leadership in both the House and Senate had planned all along on losing this illegal immigration fight to Obama and the Democrats, suggesting this ‘fight’ was nothing more than kabuki theater and that Republicans were never serious about it:
HUFFINGTON POST – Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) charged Tuesday that Republican leaders in Congress had planned all along to capitulate in their battle to defund President Barack Obama’s immigration actions.
Cruz’s remarks came soon after House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) decided to bring up a “clean” bill to fund the Department of Homeland Security, backing down from the effort to use department funding to strip authority for Obama’s executive actions.
“Unfortunately, leadership’s plan was never to win this fight,” Cruz told reporters Tuesday.
“Since December, the outcome has been baked in the cake. It was abundantly clear to anyone watching that leadership in both houses intended to capitulate on the fight against amnesty,” Cruz said, adding, “It was a strategy doomed to failure. It’s an old adage in Washington: Never take a hostage you’re not prepared to shoot.”

Remember, Boehner and McConnell took office in January determined to show voters that Republicans could be trusted to govern responsibly, i.e. with no more shutdowns or debt-ceiling standoffs. They chose DHS’s money as their leverage on amnesty not because they thought it would make Obama blink but because they knew it’d be easier to sell an eventual capitulation on that money to conservatives. “We can’t withhold the funding!” they could say. “ISIS will overrun Washington!”
Those majorities do not matter.
They are simply an illusion. it doesn’t matter which party is in charge, because government is in charge, and both parties comprise government.
There is literally zero difference between a GOP majority and a democrat majority.
The only thing that matters is that the government agenda advances, just as it did today, and that the public stays fooled long enough for them to continue.
But that is just it. The Dems are outright communists and are intolerable. The GOP plays footsie with them and I get so mad I want to punish them by letting them lose.

And, even further, I wouldn't be surprised if Obama was in on all of it from the first, including playing his part in his indignation over the invitation to Bibi. It gave Boner a chance to act tough and didn't cost Obama anything. Word was that Boner was meeting with Obama during the ruse.

Ted is the only candidate who has the balls to reverse Hussein’s decrees. Even Scott Walker, whom I like otherwise, does not seem to have the fire in his belly that is required to stand up to the RATS and their media and the GOP establishment. To paraphrase President Reagan, Ted Cruz is the last best hope of America and therefore the world.

I do not follow him but what he wrote makes sense. Do you disagree with anything in his analysis? It makes perfect sense. As has been stated here, even Netanyahu’s speech was probably orchestrated to give Boner cover.
