No, what's nuts is what I've been doing, which is voting R just because, well, if we get the R majority, things will change I tell ya! Which is why I voted for, and fought hard for, that R majority from 2000-2006. You know, when we got the so-called "Patriot" act and Medicare Part D. No, nuts is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. I'm done spinning my wheels. Voting R is not - I repeat, NOT - going to change a damned thing. The ONLY thing voting R accomplishes, is postponing the coming eventuality, but make no mistake, we're headed for ugly times, and it won't make on bit of difference between R and D. Get over it.
I followed you all the way down to the last line when you rudely told me to “get over it”. That was unnecessarily offensive. Otherwise, I do see your point and it is not as though I haven’t thought it myself. However, I’d vote for Cruz no matter if he was a Republican or a Tea Party Candidate or started a party with another name.
The problem is not simply the “R” after the name, it is that the liberals are now in control of the party. That’s why the leaders won’t stop Obama with impeachment, government defunding, a charge of treason or whatever else is on the smorgasbord of options to choose from. They are a branch of the government equal in power to the President and most definitely could stop him if they wanted. They don’t want to. They are on his side. It is clear.
There are still good people scattered about within the Republican party, so I am not throwing them all out and if the party would somehow manage to accidentally nominate someone who’s not a rotten ,good ole boy, progressive, socially evolving carcass who hides under his desk or falls to his knees at the mention of Obama’s name, I’d still be willing to vote for that person even if they have an “R”. I just need to see someone with the American spirit in their eyes and fire in their gut and a Constitution in their back pocket that they have actually read and intend to follow.
