Obama "Very Interested" In Raising Taxes Through Executive Action (Who Can Stop Him?)

White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest confirmed Monday that President Obama is "very interested" in the idea of raising taxes through unitlateral executive action.

"The president certainly has not indicated any reticence in using his executive authority to try and advance an agenda that benefits middle class Americans," Earnest said in response to a question about Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) calling on Obama to raise more than $100 billion in taxes through IRS executive action.

"Now I don't want to leave you with the impression that there is some imminent announcement, there is not, at least that I know of," Earnest continued. "But the president has asked his team to examine the array of executive authorities that are available to him to try to make progress on his goals. So I am not in a position to talk in any detail at this point, but the president is very interested in this avenue generally," Earnest finished.

Sanders sent a letter to Treasury Secretary Jack Lew Friday identifying a number of executive actions he believes the IRS could take, without any input from Congress, that would close loopholes currently used by corporations. In the past, IRS lawyers have been hesitant to use executive actions to raise significant amounts of revenue, but that same calculation has change in other federal

I’m going to have to ween myself off this site. I can’t take anymore news about Obama’s actions.

If the Catholics and Protestants of FR can come to a detente for the sake of agreeing that Jesus will be our only King, we might be able to get divine leverage in this country again.

Several specific individuals would have to be removed ... permanently from the forum for that to happen. That would not suffice, as they would sooner or later be replaced by others of like mind.

Some folks are dedicated to promoting their own understanding of the Gospel.

Others are dedicated to trashing understandings of the Gospel with which they disagree.

I’ve been watching stuff on youtube about fema camps. Could it be true? Yes. I’m going to try to go out NW of Houston this afternoon and check out the large piece of land surrounded by concertina wire.

People like us should not attempt to read the Constitution as it is too nuanced.

Besides, it's like, 100 years old.

Didn’t we fight a war against the last king who raised taxes on us without representation?

(Who Can Stop Him?)

Well, of course the other branches of the federal government but the feds are lousy at limiting themselves. SCOTUS has granted themselves and the feds unconstitutional and unlimited power. So most likely it is up to the STATES and the PEOPLE to stop him by rejecting Obama's unconstitutional and illegal acts.

When an act of Congress or the President or SCOTUS constitutes nullification of the Constitution, as this act of Obama certainly would be, the states and the people have EVERY CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT to nullify the same unconstitutional federal act. It's time.

You need some political leadership in powerful positions. You don't have any right now.

The present situation is sad, disconcerting, and potentially very very dangerous.

The Republicans will either acquiesce or risk being blamed for shutting down the government.

The funny thing is that they could turn that to their advantage: instead of passing funding bills, they could pass bills abolishing huge sections of the government in order to rein in government spending and prevent a government shutdown, and then when Obama vetoes these bills paint him as the one who is unwilling to prevent the government shutdown.

Larger America is irrelevant if the promise in 2 Chronicles 7:14 (a) is true, and (b) applies to Christians, as the only people this is contingent on would be Christians: if my people, who are called by my name, […].

We need to win 2016 and with a conservative. Namely Ted Cruz and undo everything. People in Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, Florida and the rest have to rise up and vote for a conservative to win the primary. No more in fighting. Man up and vote! Man up and get behind a guy and ride the wave to victory in November 2016. Or else lock and load and take over D.C.

In the current environment it will be easy for Obama to decree new fees or order the IRS to eliminate credits, deductions and exemptions to the tax code. If he initially limits this executive action to corporations, there will be no opposition from the people who have been conditioned to hate capitalists. Obama’s actions will be perceived by the public as just, not overreach. Once he has usurped the power to amend the tax laws for business it is only a matter of time before he does the same to individuals. The large numbers on the Democrat plantation who pay no taxes will not care. A few in Congress may give speeches, but Congress itself will do nothing.

The final step will be an Executive Action mandating a Coronation.

Game Over!
