During a visit to Brussels, the President of Bulgaria, a country that depends on Russia for over 90 percent of its gas supplies, accused Vladimir Putin of planning to destroy the EU from the inside.
Speaking at a conference organized by the Center of European Policy Studies (CEPS), Bulgarias Rossen Plevneliev said that Putins propaganda machine was attempting to split the member states of the European Union.
The leaders who rule by force across the world have one thing in commonbreaking the rules, Plevneliev said, as quoted by Vesselin Zhelev, the correspondent of ClubZ.
See how Mr. Putin today is taking us with his propaganda, which can blow (up) the EU from inside, said Plevneliev. Whichever crisis you observe, it is related with breaking the rules. The EU is a project for peace. But peace is not only the absence of war, but also human rights and the rule of law. Every crisis begins with breaking the rules, Plevneliev said.

Too late - the muzzies are doing that already.
Putin’s ‘silver lining’?
He could easily freeze them out.. So to speak.
Just watch - the PUTIN HATERS, you know, the ones that support President Obama’s confrontational stance against Russia will again come out of the woodwork here.
...just watch.
the muzzies are his pets.
Obama has a confrontational stance against Russia? The same guy who “reset” the missile shield?
You won’t see me attacking FReepers that post as much as you do, but I really have NO CLUE as to what the President is thinking. It does sound like he’s almost dying to get into a war with Russia over Ukraine with a gutted military...but then again who knows.
“the muzzies are his pets.”
Don’t think so. Look at Chechnya.
I don't think even THIS POTUS wants a military confrontation with Russia.
The problem is that this POTUS and his cronies think they can bully and bluff Russia before they have even put up ante.
Without a couple of Armored Divisions in BOTH Germany and Poland, and a couple of combat brigades in both Austria and the Czech Republic...not to mention an Air Wing or two...Russia knows they don't even have to factor the US Military into their planning.
It's VERY dangerous for the Sheriff to stand in the middle of the square bragging on what he's gonna do to those outlaws when he catches up to them. Unarmed.
And nothing but a cold wind at his back.
The same guy who said he'd be more flexible after the election. People dislike Romney here but he was correct on Russia and other foreign policy issues.
Kadyrov is Putin’s zookeeper per Muslims, so yes, they seek to keep Chechnya under control at the cost I heard of $1 billion. That must include security and all kinds of things.

So, BobL, if anyone does not agree with Putin’s attack on Ukraine, and with his hybrid war on a bunch of countries of the EU, that person automatically agree with Obummer, eh? You are outing yourself by going immediately with one of the putinistas main talking point. BTW, you didn’t answer my question on another thread a couple of days ago. Here it is, again: do you think Ukraine attacked poor defenseless Russia, and is taking chunks of it’s territory? And I’ll add another one, do you think that Boris Nemtsov got what he deserved?
Romney blew his own election. I was one of the hold-nose-and-vote crowd. It’s too late to even talk about that.
The Bulgarian President is one of the very few politicians there that are pro-western. All the others have been bought and paid for by Putin.
Don’t equate pro-EU with pro-US. The EU has its own agenda, don’t forget.
Well stated. That is my BIG PROBLEM here. We seem to tweak Russia, and keep tweaking them, and yet have NOTHING other than maybe an LGBT Brigade to back up our taunts.
We really should decide ONE PATH. Either we confront Russia at her borders, and bring in the military and hardware needed (i.e., just about double our defense spending, so that we’re back at Cold War strength in Europe), or see what Russia REALLY WANTS and decide if we can live with it (perhaps they’re happy with a piece of Ukraine and some deal with the Baltics, and no ABMs in Eastern Europe...maybe that ends things for them).
In the long term, I am MUCH MORE worried about China, and I suspect that Russia is just as worried, if not more worried.
“So, BobL, if anyone does not agree with Putins attack on Ukraine, and with his hybrid war on a bunch of countries of the EU, that person automatically agree with Obummer, eh? “
Seems that way, since that is where Obama lines up.
Oh, I am not, still I’d rather deal with pro-EU guy than with one that’s on Putin’s payroll. And Plevenliev has shown himself to be quite pro-US, too. It s not an accident the Russian Fifth Column members in Bulgaria have been protesting in front of his office daily, although the protests have attracted very few participants mainly from the former communists, now socialists, and the “nationalist” party Ataka, which is also a Russian creation.
Keep repeating them talking points.
That’s good about Plevenliev. By comparison, many Polish leaders have gone “full EU” especially over the missile shield and the mostly-toothless Obama response to Russia.
