In the years since Obama has killed the Energy and Manufacturing sectors, the IT sector has driven the economy.
The internet takeover will now kill that as well.
The Left is comprised of commies that desire to subordinate and control the population.

If the Government wants money, they can just print it.

I think they want to punish success. They perceive success as having been achieved by exploiting or taking from someone else. To them, economic systems are a zero sum game situation , in which they think anyone’s success came at the expense of others.
They are full of it with that reasoning, but, that is how leftists view these matters.
Everything the Left does is all about control. Its always the underlying theme and purpose. Always.

The answer is obvious. The Leftists are totalitarians; they believe in total control. You can only get total control by destroying your opposition.
It’s way beyond mere greed.
Anyone asking that question already knows the answer. Taxes aren’t about revenue. The wealthy are natural opponents of a lowest common denominator socialist system. Destroying their wealth eliminates an enemy, and once the enemies are gone, you can do whatever you want. That is goal no. 1, not revenue. They just need enough revenue to run things for a while until they have total control. Then they don’t need money, they just need guns.

Since leftists see prosperity as a zero-sum game I imagine that they see them as going hand~in~hand.
The fact that multinational companies keep foreign raised capital out of the US because of higher taxes proves that the Laffer curve exists.
In my opinion, Rats could not care less about the revenue raising aspect of taxation. They can print all the money they need.
