The powers behind the FCCs muscling of the Internet Todays vote by a bitterly divided Federal Communications Commission that the Internet should be regulated as a public utility is the culmination of a decade-long battle by the Left. Using money from George Soros and liberal foundations that totaled at least $196 million, radical activists finally succeeded in ramming through net neutrality, or the idea that all data should be transmitted equally over the Internet. The final push involved unprecedented political pressure exerted by the Obama White House on FCC chairman Tom Wheeler, head of an ostensibly independent regulatory body.
Net neutralitys goal is to empower the federal government to ration and apportion Internet bandwidth as it sees fit, and to thereby control the Internets content,

Another leftist move to end internet freedom and unfettered political discussion on the march.
The democrat version of democracy means 3 unelected bureaucrats voting for something that none of us are allowed to see.
For those of you Freepers who think this is a good idea, I just noticed that a 15 year Freeper who insisted that Net Neutrality was a good idea because it meant his ISP would be required to give him better Netflix speeds was zotted yesterday into outer darkness.

Another success for the revolution, comrades!!! Onward and Forward!!!

IMHO
The FCC DOES NOT have regulatory power outside of congress.
I’m sorry but three unelected people DO NOT have the LEGAL AUTHORITY OR JURISDICTION to make U.S.law.
Can this be reversed with a new president, Say a Ted Cruz type of president?
Whoever appoints the members of the FCC
Whoever that was, he represents the clueless majority who were more than willing to sign up for this abomination.
Best explanation I’ve seen-
Wolff: It’s not really net neutrality
Net neutrality is a hands-down victory for the digital industry, except that nobody anywhere can tell you what has been won.
It is a resounding defeat for the broadband business, particularly for Comcast, except that Comcast, if you’re inclined to bet, will probably still come out ahead.
Net neutrality is a curious piece of regulation that has been spurred on by popular umbrage and letter-writing campaigns (or the modern social media equivalent), but which has been fashioned and will continue to be fashioned by a process of negotiation and defined by a language, wholly opaque to the public.

From wiki
The FCC is directed by five commissioners appointed by the President of the United States and confirmed by the U.S. Senate for five-year terms, except when filling an unexpired term. The President designates one of the commissioners to serve as chairman. Only three commissioners may be members of the same political party. None of them may have a financial interest in any FCC-related business.

You would think a FR’per would have more commom semse if he’s been paying attention the last 6 years. This administration always has a hidden agenda in everything it does. It says one thing while it does another. With the new level of access and control the administration will have over the largest information delivery system in the world bar none, a new level of electronic surveillance and propaganda delivery system will exist as never before. Now the real NWO order can begin. I bet Obama and Soros whet their pants when this went through after they fooled and paid off Wheeler -and the other traitors to get it passed. I can almost hear,”see I told you they were that stupid” passing from Soros mouth to 0’s ears...
More communism, brought to you courtesy of Soros and Obama.
"Net Neutrality"
"Common Core"
"DREAM Act"
If your goal is to inevitably rule over people, then stop dicking around and bring it.
“More communism, brought to you courtesy of Soros and Obama.”
You might also ask where the Bush family, McCain, McConnell, Graham, Rove, and other GOPe members stand on the issue. Are they screaming about another nail in the coffin of freedom? If not, they are complicit and just as bad.
Net Neutrality bump for later...
You can have no more than 3 FCC commissioners of the 5 from 1 party.
