The White House said Friday that President Obama will sign into law a short-term funding bill to avoid a midnight shutdown of the Homeland Security Department, a pledge that all but assures the funding fight over his deportation amnesty will last at least three more weeks.
The truth is, if the president is faced with the choice between the short-term extension and shutting down the Department of Homeland Security, he will sign the short-term extension, White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said at the daily press briefing.
The presidents willingness to accept the temporary funding being pushed by House Republicans likely will send the immigrate fight into overtime.
House Speaker John A. Boehner, Ohio Republican, has gambled that another shutdown deadline in three weeks will give his party the upper hand to force Democrats to accept restriction to Mr. Obamas actions, which seek to grant resident status, work permits and Social Security numbers to more than 4 million illegal immigrants.

Of course he’ll sign it. His best buds, McConnell and Boehner, gave him 100% of what he wanted and, surrendered the Republicans in the process. He’s got a celebration to plan.
The fight continues ... for another three weeks! That will give the Congressmen time to put all their ducks in a row and hammer Obama!
D*mn, what leadership!
Yay! Go GOPe.
Would love to see 0bama hammered on this, the turkey deserves impeachment.
His RATS are getting their asses kicked over his vetoing Keystone, enough that they fear getting booted in ‘16 is the only reason for this.
Someone can post maps of proposed Keystone line *and* a map of states that signed on with TX’ lawsuit?
What isn’t clear from reading the article is if this short term funding of DHS also funds DHS to grant resident status, work permits and Social Security numbers to more than 4 million illegal immigrants.
If it does, the fight is over, Republicans surrendered.
If it does not, what is the point of kicking this can three weeks down the road? What do Boehner and McConnell expect to change between now and then, other than tell the country they’re just bluffing until no one is looking?
Just enough time to buy a court diecision to overturn the Texas judge.
And no one sees this?
The truth is, if the president is faced with the choice between the short-term extension and shutting down the Department of Homeland Security, he will sign the short-term extension,
Why not? It’s a win for obama, and as EQAndyBuzz states one of his courts could bail him out, the Republicans have many other excuses they can use to cave. Let’s not forget boehner, mConnell, most House and Senate Republicans favor haley barbour’s and the chamber’s illegal immigrant amnesty plan.
Sure looking forward to Mark Levin’s take on this next hour.
With our recent loss-loss-loss-loss-loss ad finitum record, I see what you mean but I think Abbott and Cruz gamed this one out in all possible outcomes, then struck, so I have hope.
infinitum
I read that funding this thing somehow legalizes it and 8 months is not a “short term” extension.
Yeh too bad it didn’t pass Barry. Suck it up loser.
Amen to that!
Don’t you just LOVE amnesty!
I’d love to have a president that would give 11 million plus illegal aliens amnesty from going to jail if they agreed to go back where they came from immediately and stay there, I know I’m dreaming.
Dude, what are you smokin?
Cordially,
