I hope Mr. Nemoy rests in peace but, not being a Vulcan, I have mixed emotions about the whole “Star Trek” culture of progressive humanism.

“They worshiped and served created things... and because of this, God gave them over.”
—Romans 1:25+

When the Technocratic State-establishment becomes an object of worship, the enterprise’s multicultural poo is headed for the wind tunnel, again.

The original series had some liberal elements in it, but overall, it was very much in the mold of classic American values; fearlessness in exploring, courage in the face of evil, working to achieve your goals. Captain Kirk was an American Horatio Hornblower in space. Original Trek was respectful to conservative American culture, including in matters of God. It wasn't until the 70's that Roddenberry's skepticism became full blown atheism and progressivism (Star Trek: The Motion Picture had some anti-religious stuff cut from Roddenberry's script by his bosses at Paramount, wisely). While my wife and I enjoyed The Next Generation while it was on, even then some of the more over the top liberal elements made me cringe ("We don't enslave animals for food any longer".... ugh). TNG is in some case just silly and unwatchable to me now. And Paramount knew how silly it was getting, especially Roddenberry's insistence that 24th century Earth had become a kind of modern Utopia and that there could be no conflicts between humans anymore. Well, that pretty much kills any drama... the lifeblood of a TV show... so Paramount let Rick Berman do Deep Space 9, which reintroduced the notion of conflict again.

True but much of that was pressed on post-ST, post-Roddenberry.

TNG, VOY, DS9, ENT were loaded with that SJW excrement, but that has much more to do with their showrunners needing two dozen episodes of puerile hopegnosis for the feeble-minded couch potatos, or find themselves out of a job -- notably re: ENT...
