if you're a Christian I doubt you'll fare that well.
Arrestees are often shackled and held in a safe room when booking processes are overwhelming intake. There is no abuse. Access to a telephone is contingent upon cooperation with the booking process. Refusal to submit to photos and prints, which are employed to positively identify the arrested suspect, and refusal to answer booking questions or provide an ID, will qualify the subject for indefinite incarceration at a county lockup. These allegations i read in this article could be made by anyone undergoing examination upon arrest, at any police department: they, not understanding the law, and entitling themselves with rights that do not exist. There is no right to refuse answers to question like “what is your name and address’ upon arrest. They do not represent investigatory objectives, and information is not subject to 5th Amendment protection. Objectives of public justice demand that the an arrested be positively identified, for reasons obvious to anyone...including the idiot protester who thinks he is entitled to phone an attorney when not fulfilling lawfully compelled obligations to identify himself, or submit to lawfully- compelled photos and prints. This brewhaha is fabricated agitation designed to make headlines and impugn police. IMHO.
