Thinking a little further, I think this is a good sign for conservatives. I think this shows the Republican leadership is very worried about going back to their voters as losers again. They are really caught between a rock, and a hard place because they have shown their hand, and the Democrats know all they have to do is threaten a shutdown, and the Republicans will fold. Why would they agree to an extension? Give us what we want, or we will shut down the government and blame it on you.

Ah: the recess! I think you’ve hit upon it.
Conservative members don’t want to face the voters after surrendering to Obama, and RINOs don’t want to face them after letting the DHS funding expire.
Boehner is stuck LOL!

Let’s hope that today McConnell surprises us and nukes the bill through with 51 votes so it lands on the president’s desk with just a few hours to go.

Then let him veto it. Then pass the same bill again. And again.

Do you think Reid would use the nuclear option? lol
