Prior to his speech at CPAC Thursday afternoon, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) didnt mince words. He bluntly told reporters how nervous he is about the presidents final 20 months in office.
The next 20 months are going to be very dangerous, he said. They are going to be dangerous at home. President Obama has reacted to this last election in a way thats unprecedented. You know, prior presidents have been repudiated [and] theyve reacted with contrition. [P]resident Obama, instead, reacted with anger and defiance.
I believe the next 20 months we are going to see a degree of lawlessness that will exceed anything weve seen in the previous six years, he continued. I think were going to see executive order after executive order. I think were going to see the abuse of regulations in a way that crushes small businesses, destroys jobs. I think we are going to see the continued weaponization of the IRS in the federal government, and it is going to be dangerous.
He expressed hope, however, that Congressional Republicans will fulfill their constitutional duties and, as he put it, rein in that abuse of power and provide meaningful oversight. But unfortunately, he said, there are other concerns to be worried about as well.
And Ill tell you as dangerous as its going to be at home, its going to be even more dangerous aboard, he emphasized. Every bad actor on the face of the globe, from Putin to Khomeini in Iran to ISIS, has every incentive possible to do as much damage as they can in [the next] 20 months."
Why?
Because, he argued, "the tyrants of the world believe there is no credible threat or deterrent from this president.
I have always thought he was the one he has always given me the creeps.
If he did do that do you think his supporters would like it and how would the media spin it you think?
I just wonder at some point something has to happen to stop the one who shall not be named.
Breto may be on to the real truth that should be faced.
First let me state that I think Ted Cruz is a great man and may be the only man I trust in the WH. That being said, I’ve been disappointed before in those that I felt were true, strong conservatives and if Cruz was part of the Kabuki Theater, I would not be shocked.
And you are right on Gowdy. I thought he was great last year. I watched the F&F hearings. Now, I believe he is part of the Theater too. Its like watching Pro Wrestling now to me. Yeah, there is some athleticism, and some wrestling, but its mostly a soap opera.
but its mostly a soap opera.
yup you got your designated good guys and bad guys and often they are interchangeable.
What has the GOP got us on spending? What has the GOP got us on immigration. What has the GOP done to stop the lawlessness in the Executive? What has the GOP done on anything that matters. Like Carly said about Hillary’s flying, talk is an activity not an accomplishment.
you are right, but let me add. I don’t see how a decent, honest man or woman would run for Congress today. Reason being, why would I stick my neck out to get chopped off when I KNOW that the people I represent are not willing to grab real pitchforks (and maybe rifles) to stop the evil, real racism and tyranny that is stomping all over this Country 24/7.
Until we become warriors, not voting warriors, nothing will change.
I imagine there are a few that run perhaps even get elected but the force of corruption that is unloaded on them when they reach Washington is usually overwhelming. Allen West is a good example. He ran as a nobleman but caved to the establishment which ultimately rejected him for his troubles.
I do not believe you can align with either party without being subjected to they’re immensely corrupting forces. A third road is needed.
My time is passing fast on this earth. I grew up in the greatest country in the world. Went off to war to fight communism only to return home and see the american people slowly embrace the basic tenets of said philosophy. And if you opposed them you were selfish. I regret the fact that so many will never experience the country as I did nor enjoy the liberty while it lasted. Alas they likely wont even realize their own slavery.
As Ayn Rand said: “ there is no difference between communism and socialism, except in the means of achieving the same ultimate end: Communism proposes to enslave men by force and socialism by vote., It is merely the difference between murder and suicide.”
Nope, all we can hope for is that Obama goes into a Coma.
Yo Ted, GOP if youre not gonna stop him shut the F up
This is not mistrust of a politician, which is rational. This is free floating rage. It's pathological.
Breto seems to be beyond angry to raging. The first task is to identify your allies and your opponents.
Ted Cruz is our friend. The eGOP is not. If you cannot identify your allies you have no hope at all.
Realistically, Ted Cruz is doing all he can do at this time. If we want him to do more we have to help. We have to help him gain power.
Raging about what he hasn't done (because he doesn't have the power) is detached from reality.
Thank you Dr.
I feel better now
