As promised, President Obama is using executive actions to impose gun control on the nation, targeting the top-selling rifle in the country, the AR-15 style semi-automatic, with a ban on one of the most-used AR bullets by sportsmen and target shooters.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives this month revealed that it is putting the ban on 5.56mm ammo on a fast track, immediately driving up the price of the bullets and prompting retailers, including the huge outdoors company Cabela’s, to urge sportsmen to urge Congress to stop the president.

I take this to mean that the administration is getting prepared to do their most damage to the republic and while the ammo for DHS is still being delivered, the ammo for the patriot conservative who is considered the enemy of the marxist/muslim state will have to be retrieved from owners. After being outlawed it will be confiscated, house by house. IMHO. Time is running out, though. Don’t know if the right number of MRAPs and military gear has been distributed to the police since they are the ones who will be confiscating.
I agree that single shot is currently exempt, but I don’t think that is the issue.
This is a new BATFE rule that will remove the “sporting purpose” exemption under the AP definition for 5.56mm green tip ammo. This rule change is under the guise that steel core green tip ammo can pierce soft body armor and be found in a handgun platform. However, a steel core is not a requirement under the BATFE definition of AP (See previous post). This exemption is also determined by the US AG and Lynch/Holder are both anti-gun.
Also, as you already stated, larger calibers, virtually any high velocity rounds, can penetrate soft body armor and are available in AR or AK pistol platforms. If 5.56 is banned by this rule change (removal of the exemption), then it is possible that these larger calibers will also be banned before long. That is the concern expressed by this article. It may be a “minor” rule change, but once changed, it could be applied to all rifle calibers larger than .22.

No executive amnesty, no banning guns or ammo or magazines, no obamacare, no net neutrality, real tax reform, keystone XL, no defense cuts and no running around the world expressing hate for the USA, shitting on the flag and using the constitution as toilet paper. Most of all he respected the law.
I can deal with a president that has leftward tendencies that has a rightwing congress and a rightwing senate.

Mitt was next to last on my list and just above Ron Paul, whom I did not believe would defend our country. There is one particular poster (I will not call him a fellow FReeper), whom I will not name again, who has posted over and over that I am a Romney-bot and Romney was my guy. That is a blatant lie and he knows it.
I understand principle and respect those of principle. But now it is time for those who could not stomach Romney to own what they did. What is happening now was very easy to predict. And it is going to get worse. In our lifetimes, this was the election to not stay home and fight the battle against the GOP elitists.
We would have had to fight Romney in many areas, but the things Obama is doing would have not been done by Romney. Even if they agreed with some of it, the RATS and the press would have fought him so that he would get no credit.
We must think alike. I have the exact same rifle, 16” barrell but my optics are a Nikon 3.5-14x42. I love it but they are heavy. I wouldn’t want to hump it for 20 miles. I’ve noticed that the plastic pmags work much better with it than the metal mags from DPMS. I have the occasional stovepipe jam with the metal mags but I’ve never had a problem with the p-mags.
Also, to score the point of this article. The BATFE attempted this in 2012 thru a law interpretation, but it was rejected. Now the same issue is being attempted by an executive rule change Below are comments from an NRA article, which points out that this simple exemption rule change may be eventually applied inclusively to all high velocity rifle ammo.
“BATFE suggested that it believes that the ‘armor piercing ammunition’ law was intended to affect all ammunition capable of penetrating soft body armor worn by law enforcement officers.”
“BATFE says it considers projectiles to not be exempt under the “sporting purposes” test if they “pose a threat to public safety and law enforcement”
The purpose of this rule change is to specifically remove that “sporting purposes” exemption for AP ammo that can be found in handgun platforms. It starts with 5.56mm, but where does it end?
The Gun Control Act, derived as it was from the laws of the Third Reich, must be repealed in its entirety. It is unAmerican; foreign to our principles and repugnant to our Constitution.
I wonder... Obama had precincts with 1110 % voter turnout, 100% for him. Now, if that can be done, a percentage can be skimmed off the top and the votes changed to make the vote tally approximate the poll numbers people had been bombarded with for months.

In 2008, romney couldn’t even handle the lies of john mccain, a proven loser. Ordinarily, this should’ve disqualified him for 2012, but the GOPe isn’t an ordinary group of losers.
Todays Congress' inactions have nothing to do with Romney in any way, shape, or form.
If I'm missing something please enlighten myself and others.
