As promised, President Obama is using executive actions to impose gun control on the nation, targeting the top-selling rifle in the country, the AR-15 style semi-automatic, with a ban on one of the most-used AR bullets by sportsmen and target shooters.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives this month revealed that it is putting the ban on 5.56mm ammo on a fast track, immediately driving up the price of the bullets and prompting retailers, including the huge outdoors company Cabela’s, to urge sportsmen to urge Congress to stop the president.

I agree. Romney tried to run as liberal-lite, and it cost him his conservative voters who wrote him off. The moderates still went for Obama and Romney was left without his conservative base. Result: he took a shellacking.
It was a poorly thought out strategy that thought they could cut into Obama's own voters, but all it accomplished was costing him his own. To the general goes the blame for bad strategy.
That said, only a thoroughly dishonest person could possibly believe that the 2nd amendment doesn't also include ammunition. "Arms" are not "arms" unless they are complete and lethal. Knives and swords without blades, bows without arrows? If there is a penalty that can be levied for frivolous action certain to be found lacking, then they need to throw the book at these people.
If we don't support the freep-a-thons, we are in jeopardy of losing free republic in the not too distant future. Jim Robinson is getting older, and there comes a time when everyday headaches say, "Is it time to retire?"
Single shot target pistols like contenders are exempt. This first came up when Olympic (I think) introduced the first AR pistol 20 years back.
But it wasn’t considered readily available. Now 55.6 pistols come from KelTec, and nearly every AR builder.
There is no new law, just the standard one from 20 years back that is now being applied. This sucks, and is obviously vindictive, but its no new law or even an executive order. The main effect will be to end imports of steel core 5.56 and no US military surplus components.
Like I said, there will always be a large supply found near every oppressor. But I still think you are better with 55gr. And if you want heavy bullet accuracy, you really should be using an A-max, a Nosler, or a Sierra and rolling your own accuracy loads that will be far more effective and accurate than 855. ANd if you need true armor piercing, you really shouldn’t be in a 5.56.

People here are among the most intelligent demographic of informed voters. We all knew what was coming and how bad it would be.
They continue to try to explain their juvenile refusal to vote for GR by saying that he would have been “just as bad” when in fact that is an intellectually vacant argument. I think they’re basically trying to justify an unjustifiable act. And yet they promise to do the same thing again. And they will have helped another Clinton get elected as surely as they helped Obama get elected.

We don’t need to guess what Romney would do. He signed an assault rifle ban in 2004. Believe what is right in front of you. He also signed Obamacare for Massachusetts.
He was also for open borders, homo marriage, abortion, and believes in Global warming. But other than that he’s really VERY conservative. He would have waved the flag and looked very middle America circa 1965, as he implemented Obama’s agenda.
