“GOP Surrenders [ fill in the blank ] . As far as I am aware in my lifetime, this is the history of the GOP, excluding Reagan. Where am I wrong and how is this going to realistically change?”

You’re not wrong and it’s not going to change at least through the application of partisan politics. The uniparty has been playing this game for a long, long, time. They’re very good at it. We don’t expect a duck to sing opera or a pig to dance ballet. So why do we expect the uniparty system to deliver conservatism or liberty?

If you want freedom or liberty, you’re going to have to get it for yourself. Capitalism and self reliance offer far more opportunity for us than electoral politics.

While your underlying point is correct, you might want to try honey before vinegar.

Your call.

“Don’t waste your time trying to persuade the losers in this latest FR surrender money pity parade. They wallow in defeat and are not worth your effort. As you stated, the media propaganda machine has completely brainwashed them to embrace hopelessness.”

Really? Who is wallowing in defeat? I’m more hopeful than I’ve been in years. Once you accept the fact that the politicians are in cahoots and you have little opportunity to change what they do, then you start looking for alternatives and truth elsewhere.

You can spend your time pursuing God, capitalism, personal liberty, and life or you can spend your time being engrossed in the affairs of the uniparty. Choose wisely.

More proof (as if any was really needed) why the ONLY way to solve this mess is to vote such that these Republicans LOSE in general elections, as JRandom has been rightly preaching for years.

Americans who voted FOR these disgusting morons in the lame-brained belief that they were voting "against" their Democrat opponents, are to blame.

They are responsible for what they voted for, not for what they voted "against." THIS is what they voted for -- they didn't vote "against" a damned thing.

In the comparison if greater vs lesser evil ... the leftist Republicans are the GREATER evil, which is why I am still glad and grateful that Romney lost, and sad that Cochran and Boehner and McConnell, etc., remain. It is better to either vote third party or stay home, than to empower the likes of these Republican fools, because these Republican fools make evils like Obama and liberals stronger in a way that no Democrat politician could hope to do.

Thanks for the ping.

This is what comes of voting "against."

People who are still voting Republican in order to vote "against" Democrats are responsible for this crap. They didn't vote "against" a damned thing. When they voted for liberal Republicans thinking of lesser evils, they voted FOR the Republican party to make leftists and liberals more powerful in both parties. Here is a case where they just got what they voted for.

Please, please, please, all readers and lurkers -- spread the word. Voting "against" is an illusion. You only get what you vote FOR, and those who voted such to keep these Republicans in power just got what they voted for.

It is better to vote third party or stay home than to vote for liberal Republicans.

Wrong, FRiend. The main culprits are people who insist that there is such a thing as voting "against."

Most Americans hold the news media in contempt. M

No matter how bad the Republican is, they can never reach the depths of depravity of a Democrat.

So incredibly, stewwwwpidly wrong that it's just heartbreaking.

Just my opinion Finny.

I won’t call you Stupid just because we disagree. I expect the same courtesy from another FReeper.

As I sit here and listen to Jeff Sessions, REPUBLICAN, I will always have faith that there are true Patriots within the ranks of the Republican Party. Of course, I will only be content when that number reaches 100%.

I agree with you.

I’m mad as hell at the repubs for bowing and scraping to the DEMS; but there’s enough good repubs in the group NOW, that I too believe they’re still a better group than the ever evil democRATS.

And, if people will just realize we need to get busy and continue to add more and more “conservative” believers to our party.

The NY times and the rest of the media want all of us who are against big government to give up, to not vote and especially on this issue to not contact Congress.

I’m just one little guy but I’m going to email all of the congress and call and light up their phone lines. what if all 300,000 freepers did this , what if all conservatives who number in the 10’s of millions did this? would net neutrality be stopped? Yes it would. but the NY times declare that the battle is over so you don’t call congress and you surrender as you are a programmed robot of the NY times .look the NY times and the media want you think there is no home that nothing you can do will make a difference so that you don’t vote that you don’t call congress. and it sure is working on this forum and on a lot of other conservatives. it’s the NY times and the media that are beating us and you all are helping the NY times by propagating their lies and their propaganda and by not calling congress.. do you understand the media want to take away all your rights and freedom and property ,money etc. do you ? you are just going to surrender?

I didn't call you stupid, Kickass. You only concluded that it was my intent, and your conclusion was in error.

I said your opinion was stupidly wrong, and it is a fact that it's what I said. Stop confusing conclusions with facts; they are different things.

I am all for voting for limited government conservative Republicans. But I think it is STUPID to vote for liberal Republicans on the wishful thinking that they're "better" than liberal Democrats. They are WORSE because they are in a unique position to give power to Democrats in a way that Democrats could never do. So I say that it is better to either vote third party or stay home, than to vote for a liberal Republican. I also say that it is STUPID to vote for liberal Republicans and think you're going to accomplish anything BUT making liberalism stronger in both parties.

JRandom Freeper is one hundred percent correct when he says that the only way to fix this mess is to STOP electing liberal Republicans. You are one hundred percent WRONG when you think that you can advance limited government conservatism by electing liberal Republicans who aid and abet liberal Democrats when in office.

I used to think like you two -- that any Republican just had to be better than the Democrat. I finally woke up.

You guys are still slumbering. You're not stupid, and I didn't say you were -- you just have the opinion in a conclusion that I did, but that opinion is only an opinion and it is based on an erroneous conclusion. The fact is that I said your opinion was stupidly wrong.

Sadly, you also base your votes on erroneous conclusions that you confuse with facts.

Wouldn’t it be easier to just Vote for the Democrat then?

Talk about a protest Vote. That will really show those Republicans what’s what...

Sorry about my mistaken “conclusion”.
I still stand by my original observation.

Democrats are what Communists were 50 Years ago.
RINO’s are what Democrats were 50 Years ago.

In summary, the only Good Commie is a Dead Commie.

You assume much. I’m a huge fan of calling and writing elected reps. I’m not at all a fan of voting, at least at the federal level. The ballot box is largely a waste of time. The mail box and phone box as well as the soap box are not.

you are right, but, sadly, we have passed the tipping point in most parts of the country. Now, if you run on self-sufficiency and smaller government, you are unelectable.

Yes, the two R FCC committee members voted against it but the republican congress surrendered allowing the D-heavy FFC Committee to vote to enact the regulations.
