Yes, my consolation is that Eastwood doesn’t need to care about a worthless award from the leftist navel-gazers. I wouldn’t be crying, if I were in his position. He didn’t need their seal of approval to succeed.

Agreed, Eastwood is at the top of his game. He is an amazing director. I've never considered him to be a great actor, but he showed more range and stole every scene in "Grand Torino", which he directed. The ending actually choke me up. Unknown to many who don't watch the credits, he also co-wrote the ending song to the movie. He's jewel in the cesspool that is Hollywood.
