One of the occupational hazards of being a drugdealer. Maybe he should have earned an honest living instead. Just a thought.

It's going to bite you, too. Political imprisonment and roundups are coming. And the lawyer you cited downthread will be locked up right with you, or hopelessly impotent.

People do not get arrested for a single parking ticket. I know you aren't telling the truth.

You are hopelessly ignorant.

Bench Warrant:
A bench warrant is issued to anyone who has failed to appear in court on the date of their scheduled court hearing. I know attending court can be nerve-racking, annoying, time consuming, stressful, and so a lot of you either just not go, not really thinking about the consequences or you forget about the ticket altogether and next thing you know you have a warrant on your driving record. A bench warrant will only be given to you if you have a misdemeanor charge such as a failure to appear (FTA) or unpaid tickets. There is a chance that you may be arrested and put in jail until an arraignment is scheduled. The court will now set a higher bail amount, schedule a new court date and a civil assessment charge of $300 will be added to the total fine. In addition, the DMV will put a hold on your drivers license and/or registration which will then lead to a license suspension.

Reasons For A Warrant:

Failure to appear on your court date
Unpaid traffic tickets
Suspected of being involved in a misdemeanor crime
Suspected of being involved in a crime

Again, I have never heard of anyone being arrested and held in jail for a single parking ticket.

I do know of one person who was arrested for having more than $10,000 of unpaid parking tickets, but he was not held - just booked and released.

You've never been to Georgia (and probably, FL AL MS TX OK SC, too). In Georgia, they will cuff you, search you, bring you to jail, and you will cool your heels until the judge gets around to seeing you. Your car will be impounded, and the towing places are notorious for personal-item theft. Don't expect to see your laptop computer again. I know several people that this has happened to.

Do NOT call me a liar.

http://www.criminaldefenselawyer.com/resources/criminal-defense/defendants-rights/unpaid-speeding-parking-tickets.htm

My mother got a ticket while she was moving. It’s assumed that notices were sent to her old address and she never received them. The ticket was issued during a time of chaos and she simply forgot about it.

Two years later, she was pulled over for a broken headlight and they found that there was a warrant for her arrest. She was cuffed and jailed.

This woman is religious. She never drinks. She’s never had a speeding ticket. She’s never done drugs. She simply forgot a parking ticket.

For that, she went to jail. Later, at her court appearance, the judge threw it out for ‘time served’.

As for the other matter, how did I find out? I read the freaking article, read the comments, and used this invention called ‘google’.

I knew a 17 year old who was arrested for having a pack of cigarettes in his car in Texas. Wanna call me a liar for that, too? He was a soldier.

The US incarcerates more people per capita than ANY other nation on earth. More than China. More than Cuba. People have been arrested for videotaping the police, for not paying their debts, for not paying child support.

This is evil.
