Yea, that's what happened with Reagan, right, oh, wait, just the opposite happened. He took a hard-line against abortion while the Moderate, GH Bush, took the normal moderate stances on abortion.
Reagan won, Bush became VP.

So why not go "all-in" and vote for Chris Christie then? He certainly didn't go "hardline" in defense of the 2nd Amendment in this ad, did he?
