AFP video report alleges that Gaza has been deliberately flooded by Israel - despite the fact Israel has no dams in the south.
Agence France Presse (AFP) has been caught publishing a blatant lie against Israel after similar cases in the past, posting a video this week claiming "Gaza village floods after Israel opens dam gates," in a claim of deliberate flooding disproved by the fact that Israel has no dams in the south.
In the video a resident of Gaza, Ead Zino from Al-Maghraqa, claims "every four years there is a war but here in Maghraqa every year there is a flood. This water comes from Israel. This is political. All Israel wants is to destroy us."
No Israeli source was brought into the report to refute the blatant lie.
CAMERA spoke with a spokesperson for the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT), who clarified "the claim is entirely false, and southern Israel does not have any dams. Due to the recent rain, streams were flooded throughout the region with no connection to actions taken by the State of Israel."

not a bad idea, however
water has been used for a long time as a means of
cleaning out filth

OK, maybe AFP made up an Israel story, but I'm sure if Israel had a dam, they'd have flooded Gaza.
Wow! Just like George Bush did to the black folks in New Orleans during Katrina!
Ohhh nooos! The ebil JoooOoooz!
I’m sure Maria Harf will be shortly setting up a “Jobs for Zionists” office in Israel.
I’m reminded of an article with photos of the olive(?) trees just after the Jews gave over some land to the Palesinians. All of the trees had been recently cut WAY back leaving only large branches - they looked destroyed.
Turns out that is how one trims olive trees. The Jews had done the pruning, which the palestians would gain the benefit from at harvest.
BYW, when I saw how they pruned them so severely, it sure added to the meaning of the Bible verses where Jesus talks about pruning. I always visualized a little snip there, maybe a little snip over there.... Not whacking everything bigger than your arm off!
Gaza city is 46 feet above sea level. Here is a scenario where GlowBull warming and sea-level rising could come in handy, by rising 47 feet.
Good to know this about AFP, this makes the BBC look like a choir boy. I thought some of AFP reporting was good and likely, these are some bad apples, maybe Muslims who wrote this story.
Israel can’t afford to waste fresh water on such nonsense. Salt water, yes, but theirs is already at, or below, sea level, so wouldn’t work for this. Here in Iowa I’d suggest flooding them from hog manure confinement ponds, but wouldn’t be kosher. Perhaps an avalanche of sand might do the job.
AFP = All Frog Propaganda.
AFP = All False Propaganda
AFP = All For Palestine
Seems to have died down the last few years, but Jews cutting down palestinian olive trees was a standard media claim for years. And I'm sure it happened at times.
Wouldn’t trust them on Israel. Throw Reuters and AP in there. Not enough time to discuss the NY Times
Flush Gaza.
Is there a Damn Gaza movement now?
TO “A fool in paradise”: Notice how quickly the French chefs went after the frogs?
If it moves, it’s food. Same for the Japanese.
Makes me think of a Bill Cosby skit.
Noah...how long can you tread water...?
Good catch! AFP should clean its own house.
