The U.S. fears that without a cash injection, the Palestinian Authority could collapse, entailing serious security implications for Palestinians and Israelis.
Secretary of State John Kerry discussed the issue Saturday with British Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond in London.
Kerry said the possibility of the Palestinian government halting security cooperation with Israel or disbanding because of its economic predicament was real.
The U.S. is trying to find a solution.

If I recall correctly, there were phone banks on the West Bank making calls to the US for the Obama campaign before his election.
Perhaps this is just the normal housekeeping function of funneling mountains of money from the US treasury to any group that helps the Democrats during their elections. It is the Democrats main occupation while in power.
Even if they have to spend $1,000 or $10,000 for every dollar’s worth of support they get, it’s still worth it, because the money is free to them. They use all their art to create excuses and cover stories to justify plundering the treasury for their profit, and to increase their power. The same with trading away US interests, if they can extract some marginal benefit. Artful plunder is their main business.
