Good article and I would add that these people in the Obama orbit have a worldview entrenched in Marxist historical materialism. They see every conflict, struggle and solution as economic tension. No, I am not Maria Harf. By her degrees she can show that she has been schooled, but she has not been educated. I spent many years in the orient and middle east which is also the oriental mindset. It’s funny, I hear now that the word orient or oriental is a bad word and I don’t understand that. We are a world split up into two main mindsets. The oriental (latin for east or eastern) and the occidental (latin for west or western).

If you were raised in America, whether you are of English, German or Chinese ancestory you have been educated in the occidental mindset based on the Greek and Roman model. This is the thinking that Maria Harf is placing on ISIS. She does not understand what motivates the oriental mindset so that is why she came up with her hairbrain solution of a jobs program. Again, she has been schooled, but most likely not educated.

Unless things at the CIA are much worse than I imagine, I suspect her “promotion” must have been a decision taken because she was useless as a Middle East analyst, and somebody noticed she was well-spoken, if a bit dippy, and might be able to read press-releases well.

(Not that any agency of the U.S. government seems to have what we really need on the Mid-East desks, actual orientalists who know the history of Islam in fair detail.)

The author makes the problem out to be a failure of secular education to appreciate the intensity, dedication, and - should I say it? - the nuances of religious fanaticism, but in fact these folks have no trouble at all fantasizing about the top terrorist threats in the United States begin white supremacism and the militia movement. In fact, that's precisely what they said at 0bama's recent "Extremism" conference.

The reason for Harf's seeming failure to appreciate the threat that is Islam is simple: to do so would be to place her in the same category as people she feels superior to, and perish the thought. Islam a threat? Why, those Tea Party people think that! Those Bible clingers believe that! Can't be true, those people are morons.

I do not exaggerate one iota. That is precisely the length and depth of the mental processes - if they can be called that - of this accredited ditz and the coterie of elitist incompetents for whom she is spokesperson. If somebody from ISIS beheaded her he'd be sucked in by the vacuum.
