"This makes me so mad. This makes me so mad.
I know, right? When I read this, I stomped my foot in indignation!

What good does getting angry do?  I don't ask this to be snarky.  It's the burning question of my life right now.  My wife watches the news and gets furious with all that is going on, and it isn't good for her health.  But her question, and mine, is what is anyone doing about this?  Seeing these posts can bring a grow man to tears.  But it is no longer excusable that we just get angry.  Because then we go back to church or work or shopping or whatever, and everything is fine in our world until the next "ISIS is Terrible and Innocent People are Suffering Horribly" post.  We cry, or stomp our feet again, and then .... nothing changes, again.

So I have no idea what we should be doing.  I am not a Bruce Willis mercenary who can just go over there and kick some ISIS butt.  I have no political power either, other than my vote, such as that is these days.  Everybody on this thread no doubt believes in the power of information and free speech, but in this case, I have to believe there is something more specific we could be doing.  We should be helping them.  Our president won't do anything for them.  My US senator is Dick Durbin, so good luck with that.  And Mark Kirk is no bargain either.  I have somewhat better help on the House side.  But a sternly worded message to my rep has never produced an ounce of action on any previous issue ever.  Ever.  At least not that I'm aware of.

So I am asking the bright people of FR to help me out here.  Can y'all think of anything we might be missing, that we could be doing, as private individuals, right now, with the resources we do have, to mess with ISIS, disrupt their slave trade, or otherwise hurt their cause and drive down their strength?  Any thoughts?

Peace,

SR

As I posted above, this is an excellent opportunity to motivate those so inclined to truly do something about these atrocities. One may argue that such would be ‘taking matters into ones own hands’, and they’d be correct. What the savages are doing defies not only man made laws, but natural law as well. When we as a nation have the MB at the highest levels of our government, we cannot expect them to lift a finger except for PR purposes. The current crop of savages, ISIS, was and is funded through private sources, so it would certainly seem to be fair play to dispose of them through private enterprise. There are those who have the skill sets to physically eradicate the savages, and then there are those with the means to raise the funds and implement them towards those ends.

Would such a course of action rain on someone’s parade and ruin their ‘well thought out’ plans to re-establish the Caliphate? You betcha. Can such a plan be devised and implemented by an entrepreneurial U.S. Group? You betcha. Would there be push back as soon as the planning begins? Most likely.

Other than that, I have zero hope that our congress critters will have a come to Jesus moment and remember that America at one time was the leader of the free world and would not tolerate such atrocities.

Call your rep and your senators offices and demand action. That is really the only method we have of changing the situation.

As far as what can we do if we choose to put our big boy pants?

1. Destroy their funding sources. Electronically and physically erase them. I think we know who and what they are in detail.

2. Cut off their ability to transport material to their fighters. Think in terms of the highway of death from the first gulf war.

3. Begin collapsing their perimeters and forcing them to concentrate their troops. This can begin in areas in which their troops are a bit stretched out and have some difficulties because of overrunning too much territory and after those are done, begin working on the main forces, same plan. Call it divide and erase.

4. Given #3, bring in the buffs, break everything they have and erase them from the face of the earth.

5. Repeat until the problem goes away.
