I need no google GPS to find Japan on a Map or to consider that for-shocks can come sometimes with insignificant quakes leading to much larger ones,
I’ll offer prayers praising God that it was insignificant and pray it stays that way, the good people of Japan have suffered enough due to Earthquakes in recent years,
It’s 150 miles up the coast from the crippled plant.
To put it into perspective, the town of Iwate was wiped out in 2011 by the same tsunami that took out the power plant.
That wave was caused by a 9.0 earthquake. This one is 6.9. The shelf’s the same, but the epicenter’s about 80 miles up the coast and 40 miles closer to the shoreline.
6.9 Richter = 337,000 tons of TnT
9.0 Richter = 470,000,000 tons of TnT
God have mercy on them.
OMG ROFL Thanks for the laugh ROFL. What a coincidence that she is planning to go to Japan for Spring Break. I guess she decided to go early to beat the crowds.
I’m just saying that you don’t need to get worked up about a silly little earthquake. Its like offering prayers for a surfer at high tide. Its just nothing at all to be concerned about, so offering prayers seems a bit arrogant. That is all.
I was in a 7.5 in Mexico. The ground was rocking a rolling like a fast moving NY subway train. My escort and I were clinging to each other to keep from being knocked down onto the street.
Last I heard Michele was skiing in Colorado over the weekend....while BO golfs....
They’re going to milk all they can out of these next 2 yrs!
Yeah, and hope I can get my deposit back,
I need to find myself a huge picture of Rodan swallowing Tokyo for the next time anything above a 6.0 occurs here,
Also I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone refer to someones prayer as being “arrogant” before? I’ll attempt the mental gymnastics to understand, it may require a touch of agnosticism to make it go down properly though, :-)
It must be oil drilling!! oops
6:06 EST- They’ve got quake prediction down to the minute? That’s awesome, even earthshaking!
Last week?
