Well, somebody has got to be able to buy all the shrimp, lobster and primes cuts of steak which the rest of us can't afford.

With my meager $16 in food stamps each month, I can't afford to buy meat. It's just that simple.

I wonder to what degree the growth of SNAP / food stamps has driven food price inflation by removing price sensitivity for those who would otherwise be most sensitive.

My son worked as a cashier at Kroger. They buy a lot of pre-packaged foods that are easy to sell as “loosies”. That’s why they always have cash for cigarettes.
