You are correct. No one is forcing anyone to rent a fridge for $20 a week. I find it a bit strange, but these “rental” outfits seem to be doing well hereabouts.
I don’t think they teach business math/household math in schools anymore. Put aside $40/50 a month in the good times until you get that rainy day fund.
But we spend it on booze or other non-essential items.
