A little clarity is needed here. Centrifuges are used to extract the element (uranium 235), (u235) from yellow cake. Thus u235 which is enriched to about 3% is used as fuel in a reactor. u235 enriched, by a centrifuge, to 90% or more is what is needed for a uranium core to go super critical when crushed by an explosion.
