WASHINGTON (AP) -- The official sign-up season for President Barack Obama's health care law may be over, but leading congressional Democrats say millions of Americans facing new tax penalties deserve a second chance.
Three senior House members told The Associated Press that they plan to strongly urge the administration to grant a special sign-up opportunity for uninsured taxpayers who will be facing fines under the law for the first time this year.

So the deal is there were people who did not buy insurance back in October 2013 for 2014, but are so stupid they will not realize they have been fined until they file their taxes, perhaps as late as April 2015. At that point, in addition to their 2014 tax year fines, they will have a 2015 tax year fine. Then they will begrudgingly sign up and pay in late 2015 for insurance for 2016, which, guess what? Is an election year.

What had them so preoccupied they couldn’t meet the first deadline? Tough. Deadlines are deadlines! I’ve met filing deadlines through my own working years (and personal life) and learned what it meant to my employer (and probably myself) if they weren’t met. Time to make them grow up and become responsible without any special handling..
I understand what you’re saying, but it presumes compliance. Many of us have no intention of complying. We pay the fine and do whatever we can to end this monstrosity. But accepting it as reality is to lie down and accept defeat.
Yep. People are learning the hard way. Those subsidies are required to be paid back if you didn’t correctly estimate your income. I just feel bad for those who didn’t vote for Numbnutts.

This is no “pipe dream”. It was fully intended to fail. Next,
and you can count on the republicans to be on board to do it, is
national health care. If your scratching your head about that
just remember the CRomnibus Bill they passed funded Obamacare
and Obamas amnesty. Not funding DHS was just a ruse, as it’s
so obvious now. They did fund Obamacare, they did fund Obamas
executive amnesty and they haven’t done anything in to stop,
or slowdown the advancement of communism in this country.
