In the midst of controversy over the Israeli prime minister's plans to address Congress next month, a researcher has won the release of a decades-old Defense Department report detailing the U.S. government's extensive help to Israel in that nation's development of a nuclear bomb.
"I am struck by the degree of cooperation on specialized war making devices between Israel and the US," said Roger Mattson, a former memer of the Atomic Energy Commission technical staff.
The 1987 report, "Critical Technology Assessment in Israel and NATO Nations," compares the key Israeli facilities developing nuclear weapons to Los Alamos and Oak Ridge National Laboratories, the principal U.S. laboratories that developed the bomb for the United States.
The tightly held report notes that the Israelis are "developing the kind of codes which will enable them to make hydrogen bombs. That is, codes which detail fission and fusion processes on a microscopic and macroscopic level."

Israel has had nuclear weapons for a very long time and only the politicians of DC pretended not to know. They’re very good at pretending, are they not?
It would tend to restrict USG and Israel's friends in Congress from trying to help Israel in a crisis. It would bind USG, not Israel.
Clinton was always playing games like that, signing treaties that had no chance of passage in a Republican Senate, because his signature would nevertheless restrain Congress in certain situations. He loved doing that, and a lot of those "treaties", ratified or not, still bear the Klintoon signature. Obama likes to do the same thing, it appears.
Congress needs to suck it up and impeach Obama, then get a GOP AG to arrest and arraign him out of office on Article III treason charges for Benghazi (Spell**cker wants to spell it "Bingham"), SDI cuts and kissyface with "Vladimir", and Fast & Furious -- arming the cartels. Try him in Idaho.
Oh, and the idea of impeaching him is to parade all those DemonRat senators, marching in lockstep again, right before the election. Ask the People if they really, really want another four years of Slick Willie and Jug Ears working for foreign governments, backed up by a Communized Democratic Party.
Obama is an ENEMY of Israel, yet stands.
Only Satan can offer that sort of protection, and only temporarily.
Not gonna happen.
After all, Boehner would have to be arrested with the same charge.
That's such a "November 3rd, 2008" concept....
A couple multi megaton h-bombs dropped on Tehran, the ISIS territories and for good measure Mecca might do a lot to end problems in the Middle East
