CORBIN, Ky. (AP) — A 16-year-old boy killed in a shootout Saturday with police in Maryland, prompted the search of his home over 500 miles away in Kentucky, where authorities found the bodies of his parents and younger sister.

Friends and relatives of Jason Hendrix were struggling to understand how the boy, a faithful churchgoer who was baptized just two months ago, could end up as the suspect in the slayings.

Hendrix, a Kentucky high school ROTC student and active church member, was angry at his parents for taking away his computer privileges when he's suspected of killing his family execution-style before fleeing to Maryland, where he died in a shootout with police, the town's police chief said Sunday.

The misuse of some modern antidepressants has egged on mental disorders rather than alleviating them.

"Egged on"? If you mean exacerbated beyond endurable limits, triggering violence and destruction, then I'd agree. As for why the initial anger, who cares about the match, when the problem is pouring gasoline on it? What human being is perfectly calm? And yet antidepressants can trigger psychosis in anyone - and they're handed out like candy by the tens of millions, literally to children. Antidepressants create far more problems than they solve, including even creating the "initial anger" from suppressing perfectly normal adolescent mood swings.

A lot of accusations. Now for the science? (Anecdote is not the singular of data.) (Crickets)

FWIW, here's the booklet the mother wrote at the college where she worked http://www.unionky.edu/sites/default/files/public/downloads/Social%20Work%20Student%20Handbook%202014-2015.pdf

Example coursework:

This course provides knowledge and understanding of macro theories, research, and issues of human interactions in, between, and among groups, institutions, organizations, and communities. Emphasis is placed on understanding how diversity in age, class, color, disability, ethnicity, family structure, gender, marital status, national origin, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, and socio-economic circumstances contribute to and influence human behavior within the macro environment; specific attention will be given to the patterns and consequences of discrimination and oppression.

He obviously was not a Christian. The Lord died for our sins and gave us eternal life. I would consider that “helping anyone.”

Which part of the Lord's blessings does being murdered negate?

Which part does being a murderer negate?

Seems that way. That philosophy does not completely correlate with over-lenient parenting but it can lean that way.

Sometimes lefty parents can be selfish, domineering terrors.

Or maybe both. Maybe one of each type, one to enable the kid’s malignancies and the other to piss the kid off.

If he were Jewish or Muzzie it wouldn’t have made the story.

And switching roles from time to time — in general, a blame-dominated household.

I see now that she taught that class that I quoted above. The description emphasizes "macro environment" which led me to a book: 'Human Behavior in the Macro Social Environment , 3rd Edition" (don't know if there is any connection other than the phrase). The description of the book includes The updated text focuses on empowerment -- building on the strength of communities, organizations, and groups to promote change. Kirst-Ashman's new edition offers an greater coverage on social work cases in rural areas, feminist theory, the dynamics of gender-based power in organizations, and expanded discussion of spirituality in macro social work.

Seems like liberalism to me.

Medication is neither a cause or excuse for violent actions.

You've never seen someone have Serotonin Syndrome have you? I have. It happened to my wife. She didn't become violent but beat herself black and blue and had to be restrained.

Medications can do it namely antidepressants. In an adverse reaction it can be as potent as LSD. The person can become psychotic and have hallucinations. In body chemistry the Serotonin which approximately 98% belongs in the stomach migrates to the brain and sets off the adverse reaction.

What ought to scare you is the fact many doctors writing the scripts for them are often unaware this can happen. The most common trigger to it from what I've read is persons taking OTC NyQuil while on an antidepressant. It's not tin foil kookery there are some very reputable sites with info on it.

If there was an abrupt change in behavior from his long time norm I would look for any recent medication changes especially antidepressants. Sad to say many doctors don't. The onset of an adverse reaction could have triggered the behavior to have gotten the computer taken away.

I bet you though the Serotonin levels in the brain aren't checked in the autopsy.

The misuse of some modern antidepressants has egged on mental disorders rather than alleviating them. This is because depressions are complex things. “Anger turned inward” is one common description. And that opens up myriad questions about just why the anger and just why its target.

Look up Serotonin Syndrome. In some cases the antidepressant itself can trigger psychotic behavior a person would otherwise never engage in. It causes an imbalance in the Serotonin levels which migrates from the stomach in this case to the brain triggering the behavior. Or something as simple as OTC cold or allergy meds taken with antidepressants can cause it as well.

My wife is severely disabled. A quad actually. She was put on two antidepressants Trazodone and Zoloft for PTSD and depression. When Serotonin Syndrome hit her I found out later my 4'10" white wife thought she was Della Reese aka Tess on Touched By an Angel. Her behaviors was things she would never do or say. Luckily she came out of it with partial amnesia before they stopped the pills after I diagnosed it for them. I looked the meds up the doctors didn't.

See, that’s the line, right there.

...nothing to do with Christianity and alot to do with how he was brought up by his parents...why he thought he deserved whatever he wanted through anger...there is a big background story that is not being reported here......why some parents think schools are responsible for raising their kids - why parents think e-devices solve time management problems....why - why - why...and then this happens...that boy had a choice - and he chose wrong...I’m sure the parents knew something was up long before this occurred...and either didn’t deal with it and waited - or told themselves that their son couldn’t be this way and in time it would be handled by someone else...I guess the someone else will be the state prison system....

Most likely he is just a cold hearted violent thug. Medication is neither a cause or excuse for violent actions.

Obviously just a huge coincidence that so many of them are on "anti-psychotic" drugs....

Pretty definitive statement for someone who hasn't delved into the real effects of many of the drugs being dispensed today.

They will probably check out his brain and can tell a lot by the damage, blood work, etc. Believe me, there is also a history of mental illness and dead animals from childhood.
