State’s population growth expected to outstrip water conservation in coming years

California water agencies are on track to satisfy a state mandate to reduce water consumption 20 percent by 2020. But according to their own projections, that savings won’t be enough to keep up with population growth just a decade later.

California loves the illegals and loves the mud smelt that cuts off significant water supply in order to protect them.

My (very conservative) daughter just visited California two months ago. She fell deeply in love with the weather, the beaches, and some good people. She seriously considered moving there.

Reality descended when she took a look at the income tax, the cost of real estate, and the cost of living. Then she took a harder look at gun laws, education, homeschooling options... and the dream finally died.

Liberals love to take over our most beautiful places, then corrupt that beauty with Marxism. It’s sad, really.

We just left TX. Weather-wise, it’s the armpit of the US and honest Texans will admit it. Only the toughest survive.

So liberals ignore it.

They are an invasive species. They go where it’s nice for them, destroy it, then move on to the next nice place. They are the bedbugs of humanity.

So, no. I don’t see CA’s population growing. I see people fleeing and more and more put off by their stupidity.

Well raise taxes so people use less water.

There - fixed it. :)

I do have to add one thing.

Why do leftists destroy all beautiful places?

It’s in their nature.

They want the government to make everything easy. They love easy. They love free. They love the idea that you can get something for nothing.

Of course they’re drawn to the beautiful. To the calmest weather. To the path of least resistance.

"California loves the illegals"

I'll bet they're bringing all kinds of imaginative recipes for endangered indigenous species.

Idiots.

If politicians ran Silicon Valley they'd be mandating we use less memory instead of increasing chip capacity.

The ironic thing is how many Silicon Valley whiz kids support Liberal politicians.

Or should I say Wizz Kids.

It’s water inequality. How come Oregon and Washington get all of the rain? More white folks living there? White privilege?

Maybe they can just save water by bathing in the beaches.

A serious question...

Without electrical power and fresh water, how many people could California support?

Hey, government's solution is to bring in millions more water/resource consuming illegals and foreigners of every freaking description...

And Americans are supposed to cut back on resources we use?

The stinking fact is we have government which could care less about America's safety or what benefits America and Americans, as they run around places like the Mideast and the rest of the planet pouring American tax paid cash out out of C-17s...

Thank goodness CA is importing all of those illegals so they can dig wells.

California loves the illegals

It says "Bush supporter" in your profile.

The same guy who made American citizenship nearly pointless as tens of millions entered illegally during wartime, all while Bush celebrated Cinco De Mayo up in the White House?

Ya ever hear of CA prop 187? State government aided and abetted by the feds, declared that historic election illegal and burned the ballots after the voters spoke...

For a couple of decades I have been asking how any environmentalist justifies living in Southern California.

If you care about the environment, then move to someplace that doesn’t require importing your toilet water from out of state.

I know how to conserve 27% of the water:

Census Info California Population

"I know how to conserve 27% of the water:"

That would be 27% of 16%, which is about 4%. Public supply water is about 16% of total use. Irrigation is by far the biggest user. They use more water for power plants than they do for public supply, which is one of the reasons they are trying to reduce fossil fuel power plants.

Bad weather keeps out the pests.

I'm seriously considering moving to a remote part of North Dakota when I retire.

In 1970, I contemplated moving to California while I was on active duty with the Navy. After I got a look at all the dollars an in-state resident paid vs. non-resident military, I quickly decided against moving there. Compared to housing costs in the Midwest, California’s costs were insane. Now the state is overrun with illegal aliens and governed by an insane Donkey Party.
